There’s a very cool black and white photo of Magoo getting a holeshot that I think Buckley took, I’m no good at posting pics.

That's me riding the wheelie. Hole shot on a 125 against 250f and 250 2 strokes.

Maybe this is the black and white?

Magoo 594 holeshot, but clipped a track official...in classic Magoo fashion, he pulled off the track while leading to see if the guy he hit was ok. Could you imagine many current riders doing that? There are a few that might...but Magoo was one of a kind

Glen Helen Vet Worlds 2004. I told my brother in law (who is a professional photographer), that I was going to holeshot the moto and he better get pictures of it.

I can never remember the Supercross race a few years back that Alessi holeshotted so aggressively it looked like he jumped? Maybe 2015? Any assistance?

The 4th pic confuses the hell out of me..........Huh

Bear with me ( excuse my ignorance if necessary...)

1) I never thought McGrath raced a 4 stroke in SX
2 ) By the time DV12 was on BooKoo Honda, wasn't Fonseca ( #10 ) already out with his injury?
3) Tim Ferry was on a Honda at the time Byrner was on a Kawi?

Again, maybe its just me, and the years run together, but that picture made me look twice.......what year was this?

Oh, and FTE - those are RAD pics! Cool

This is when MC came back for a few races in 2006. The same year he got the holeshot in phoenix and busted the biggest NacNac ever.

Fonsceca got hurt in March of 2006. I believe this is San Francisco which would have been around February.

Thats Ferry on the Moto XXX team.

Hi Bobby,

The 84 photo is me (50), Guy Cooper(107), Ricky Ryan(24) and Michael Crane(62). I believe Eric was #58 that year.

The 83 photo is O'Mara(4), me(503), Ward(9), Lechein(224), Troy Blake(46), Rodney Smith(69), Ted Brady(83), Chris Heiser(34) and maybe Karl Jordan(63).

Pretty fucking hard to beat maybe one of the most consistent racers ever when he started pulling starts like this regularly.

A couple years ago I won the "Holeshot Award" for that weekend in Mammoth with 3 holeshots out of 4 starts.

Top is a local arenacross in Dallas (I didn’t get it but it’s a fun photo with ppl I’ve raced for a very long time)
Middle is 450 P/S at a LL Area in Iowa
Bottom is 16-24 at a MoState race

All are a few years apart. I don’t get holeshots often so it’s extra cool when there’s photo proof.

It would sure be cool to be able to whip those pics out and immediately shut anyone up who is either too young or ignorant to know the past a little bit.

Is it just me or does it seem that almost all of the people you meet on the street that says they "used" to race always seem to have had a factory ride and raced and almost beat Ricky Carmichael once.

I swallowed my need to call BS on a guy the other day that swore up and down to me that he raced for factory yamaha in the 90's.........until he got hurt Smile ......... I told him that I've been around MX for many years and know of every factory Yamaha guy since the late 70's... His name did not ring a bell. He didn't care that I caught him in a lie and just keep digging in......

It seems that you never run into an old racer that was just an average dude that could't get out of the local B class. They all had "sponsors".....
