'74 XR75 for me. By the time I realized I wanted a bike I was too big for a PW. I did look at the '81 or '82 YZ60 for a while though... never got one.

My first bike I got was an 82 yz80 but I was 7 years old and couldn't handle the bike. Honestly had a lot of days where I'd rather go fishing than riding because I was terrified of the bike. A year later I got a 94 pw80 and had some of my best days of my childhood riding that thing at Elsinore and El Mirage.

Pink 92 pw that my dad got me when i was 2 months old but i outgrew it quick and moved to an xr70. We still have the pw and shred it around the neighborhood when it snows.

Genuinely just curious as to how many of us started down this road on the mighty pw50.

PW50 here. Graduated to a PW80 as well. My buddy in elementary had a Honda Z50 that I thought was the coolest thing lol.

Who else went from a PW50 to a KX60? My 60 remains to be the most intimidating bike I've ever ridden haha

That was my route. Probably the biggest step between normal bike progression.

Old guy here. Still have my first two bikes ever. 1969 Mini Trail and 1969 Indian Boy Racer 50.
Have had more than a few PW's though, for the little ones.

Built this pw for my sons 5th birthday this past july. Started as a 99 pw in pieces. He wanted a TLD KTM replica. Couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Going to post a build thread one of these days. Complete restore.

Indian 50 with training wheels at 3 > Honda QA50 at 4 > MR 50 race bike at 6 years old. The 70's were awesome!

Same here! I don't think I got it for Christmas, but I had a yellow '82 or '83 and got a brand new '94 at 4 or 5 years old.

Bro I remember learning to ride dirt track at North Brisbane on my kx60. The amount of times I ate it was ridiculous. I've lacked talent since the very beginning lol.

haha they were definitely good for finding out if you had talent or not I don't think I had the confidence to properly get a bike on the pipe till 125's haha..
Would've loved shares in their rear guards, we put an 80 swingarm on mine which helped.. I remember Paul Weel just putting a 60 motor in an 80 chassis haha
