I wonder how he is enjoying our humidity - assuming he's in Florida. Cuz let me tell you all something, It is a MASSIVE sweat-ex out...

He will be struggling with that, hopefully Aldon can work some magic and give him a few hints Pinch

And before someone that has no clue about the differences between the bikes in GPs vs USA comes in and says it's the same bike i have to point out that no one knows what Herlings has been on this year.

Who knows what frame he has raced this season.

It makes 100% sense that he tests the US/production spec bike before racing it.
Anyone who has been around the sport for the last 35 years, knows it's not near the same bike.

Lets see if this scenario makes any sense.

1. MX Sports is not a multi conglomerate corporation with huge campus of high rise buildings. It most likely is a few employees doing a myriad of unrelated tasks. ADD types need only apply.

2. Most of the staff is on the road to the last national, leaving even more minimal office staffing.

3. In an attempt to plan ahead and cover bases, the press release about JH84 riding was written earlier in the week. Just in case.

4. The minimal staffing (maybe even one person) left behind is trying to tie up loose ends and organize the chaos of previous weeks, comes across the JF84 press release and sends it out.

5. Davey sends out the "Unregard" release.

I'm going with this. Sorry if it does not fit everyone's conspiracy theory.

If Grant can come off the couch and ride a regular bike at 'tona....Herlings can ride the bike the ol AMA champ rode to numerous victories without issue.

Mistakes can happen.

But...

If I understand the jungle drums correctly, things are headed in the right direction, and anyone who's there for press day tomorrow should get an early preview.

The thing is that #84 can of course ride a production bike with stock suspension, and be top 10. But every 0.5sec counts if he is to have a chance to win Saturday. Put that in perspective, why race it and get shit if you feel you are not comfortable or getting up to enough speed.

It wouldn't be a production bike..duh?

It would be a team KTM bike, probably Dunge's.

The big deal would likely be suspension. Talking with Roger D a while back, he says the suspension settings they use on the GP side are vastly different than what our SX-centric guys are comfortable with. Dungey tried what they were using and didn't like it...at all.

I could see that.. good info.

I'd love it if he rode, but certainly wouldn't disparage the guy for not racing it. He's got the USGP to think about and that is the main reason for being here.

Wait, Herlings can test a completely different spec bike for one day and decide he's good to go for a race in which he's putting his reputation on the line?

But Tomac needs three months to test his own bike, (that he's been racing for two years) for supercross?

I don't follow. Where did Tomac say he needed to take the next 3 months to test for supercross? I think you just made that up.

I completely agree with your point, don't understand Robgvx's point, and really wish robkinuk would go away. He's getting worse than MXGeoff.
