Easy to say when the 94 is not there. Even if Eli wins the race with the title he would have 5 wins this year with no Roczen or Dungey in the class. The title should already be wrapped up by now.

RD had it easy, in 2015 SX. Both Stew & RV won almost all the races 2014. Then RD gets like 10 in 2015.
And dungey won the title ,added to his resume and a fat check from ktm for the title. Wins are nice, Titles are way better.

Is it not possible to buy only the Ironman race? It seems that I have to pay 25 dollars for the last 3 event, just to watch the last, on NBC ppv Unsure

Pretty cool he's deciding to do it, should be an exciting weekend. No way he doesn't contend for the win or podium.

Indeed...

Herlings is down 101 points to Cairoli with three races to go. Cairoli would have to be abducted by aliens to lose the MXGP title. Hats off to Antonio.

He has ZERO skin in this game other than avoiding severe injury. Why not fly?

I think you're right about both the fuel and the sound levels, but I don't know what effect they have on actual performance (that is, anything an FIM rider would have to get accustomed to).

I am aware that the FIM allows full factory prototypes (and my favorite thing about this sport used to be full-on works bikes that foreshadowed production gear years in advance), but no one invests those kinda resources anymore, not that I can tell or that anyone really explains. (Well, I don't think the AMA allows carbon-fiber subframes, now that I think about it.)

One would think an MXGP-spec bike would be faster, because just about anything goes. But I dunno.

I think the AMA bikes are more powerful due to the fuel rules.

Perhaps a little AMA "Band of Brothers" action?

I hope ET3 comes out swinging and grabs the "Red Bull" by the horns.
yeah, and Tomac's tomfoolery at Vegas was pure class

Frame, gearbox, fuel are all different. But AMA spec is probably a little closer to stock so the adjustment shouldn't be too hard. Simpson was okay a time ago.

Heat will be more of an issue for JH784. Wink

Hope Herlings cleans house, that'd be a fun bit of fuel in the fire.

I thought it was pure genius! If your're fast enough to play games with everyone else, you get to write the rules of the game a bit. And, he did it with just enough subtlety for my taste. He could have simply cleaned RD out.

The fuel and specially the sound rules makes a big difference.
The Gp's boys who run the US fuel last year where very impressed how much power it gives.

You do know you can watch on YouTube for free right. It's streamed live there, as well as many other places online.

he's 30 points ahead so yeah, if he wins or gets second in a moto, it is over, no matter what he does in the other moto.
So if Marvin goes 1-1, he can go 2-DNF or something like 10-11

In that case I don't see why he wouldn't want to win the race and wrap the championship up in the first moto. Like Kenny said in the booth last weekend his best bet is to ride to win not conserve as you make make just as many mistakes going slow as fast.

I'm no riding coach but I'm just hoping for a flat out Tomac.
cali11 wrote:
You guys want to see Tomac loose pretty bad, to wish for a flat.
I think you have totally misread my post.

"Flat out " in England means to go as fast as one possibly can.

I don't want Tomac to "lose" at all, in fact I want him to race as hard as he can so we can have a good show and enjoy the racing. For sure I would prefer Herlings to win but to a 100% Tomac not a 70% Tomac. Or infact MM, BB, DW, JB,

*edit, should Herlings win, Malin would likely have to have Jeff's ballz surgically removed from his mouth however....

Toamc has the title to worry about , but Bogle , Bagget ,Musquin etc are racing for wins so hope we get to see a good race and Tomac wins that first 450 class title ..

Tomac can go full throttle at USGP , same goes for Herlings ... maybe we get to see a battle that day

Whoa .....buddy. Dungey was a whole different rider in 2015. I wish RV and JS could have been there. Woulda been awesome.

Edit from RacerX's page about it:

[UPDATE: 8/22 @ 4 P.M. EST]
We've heard from a source that Herlings will need to do some testing this week on an AMA-spec (production) bike before making the final decision on racing. He's entered, so if he likes the bike, he'll be ready to go.

I like giving the Herlings fanboys shit for predicting that he was going to destroy everyone the first year, but this is awesome. Big respect for putting it on the line with zero prep, ballsy.
8/22/2017 2:24pm
Makes himself available to race in an event that has no bearing on his contracted full schedule and pays very little. Interesting
