For this last AMA MX race, Tomac only needs 9th or better, no need for him to push it, so I do not think we would see a serious race between the two. If JH pushes the line to get the win, I think Tomac has learned enough to keep the championship in sight and let him go.

Then again, you do not get to that level and not have a ton of pride in yourself and this could come in to play.

Agreed. This title is crucial for him.

I won't argue that Tomac is in fact the fastest in the world but you just threw 2 guys out there that you can't make a legitimate argument for.
X2, ya can only race the guys behind the gate. Not tomacs fault they aren't there. You could play the what if card the last 20 years. Points leader after ironman,is the title winner. Simple.

The USGP is PART of JH84's scheduled racing in the MXGP. Tomac has been contracted to race the U.S.A. MXGP. There they WILL meet. No sooner.
Freaking ridiculous.

Fastest maybe. He needs to at least ice this title before he can be in the "best" conversation . Just my opinion.

By that logic both those riders should have wrapped this title up by now then too.. but they didn't.. because they retired or crashed out.

Stupid argument.

The main reason I could see Herlings here would be to put one more KTM between The Leopard Seal/El Chupacabra and Tomac. Not saying it will happen, but would be kind of neat

Herlings would probably have his own agenda

We won't see an all out Tomac this weekend. But we will at the USGP so i wouldn't be surprised if herlings wins with Tomac playing it safe

I don't know, Musquin is pretty good right now, and he has to win both motos if he wants to have any chance at that thing...
Plus we don't know if he's even "allowed" to beat Musquin.
Let's hope Tomac closes that thing in the first moto.

But yeah probably easier now then next year when Kenny is back

Seeing as with how much respect he talked about Tomac in interviews, I don't think he gives a shit if he finishes in front of Musquin.

His starts will be a big question mark. Even in MXGP he has mentioned that is his biggest weakness.
Now with different bike (frame and fuel?) it might be even bigger of a challange.

I'm just thinking the field is pretty thin right now after Tomac and Musquin. No KR,JA and BB has a messed up thumb. For some reason I see him winning the AMA race and Tomac kinda floundering around but I see Tomac winning the USGP.

I don't really care if he wins or not, I just think it's so F'n cool to see him race a national.

This is awesome news if it happens really looking forward to it! It was such a bummer that he got injured a few years ago when he was gonna ride Unadilla but cool that he wants to give it another shot Cool

WOHOOO !

What does Eli need to do to win the championship if he wins a moto is it all over ?

I agree Eli will be going for the championship but he's a racer and I wouldn't be surprised to see him go bar to bar with Herlings. Having said that Herlings could be 5th place easily just like he has been in MXGP. But how cool is it to finally see a top class MXGP guy mix it with the AMA.

There will always be moaners so let's ignore them and enjoy the race !
