Dungey pulled out and did his team a favor. He had shit the bed the last three times at the MXoN, so he probably decided that the team had a better chance without him. One race event was never his forte.

Well if there was ever a year for the top 450 pilot to saddle up and put USA on his sleeves it's damn well this year IMO and after watching Mxgp at Lommel yesterday I'm also glad it's not at sand track!!

The one time in Dungeys MxDN career when Youthstream had the balls to actually hold a so called global race outside of western/central Europe(England/France & Belgium specifically) he won both motos fairly easily as a rookie on a 450. He was fine with the one race forte, he won his class three times. The last few races were not his best and it had nothing to do with being one race and more to do with keeping the MxDN in Europe on their tracks and in their comfort zone at all costs. They know if its in America its over before it begins, Stats back it up.

After last years glen Helen waxing of entire field in both Motos in the mxgp race I'd be surprised if he said no!! That's why this year could be so special, as he'd be going to their soil and on a track that he could do well on and possibly another insane des nations ,the way AC#222, Herlings, and some of those guys are going right now!! Could be epic but looks like we will never know!! Mxgp races here are cool and all but nothing like racing in that race IMO!!

My best guess is, he would be in for it at GH unless it totally conflicted with an elk hunt (which I have no problem with him not riding in if he has an elk hunt at that time - I get it, I'm a hunter too). Him racing GH is not nearly as much to prepare for - he's ridden the track many times and it's here in the states which means he doesn't have to travel over early to get acclimated to the time zone, etc and all that extra crap with traveling internationally. The travel and time change adjustment alone will add an extra 4-5 days on the to whole trip. If it's here in the US, its much less of a commitment. I don't blame him and don't harbor any ill will against him not racing it.

We have plenty of capable riders here in the US to win. It's not like we don't have some way fast kids riding 250Fs. It's not like they can't ride a 450, they do all the time even if they race the 250 class and it's not that big of a deal for them to switch. Shoot, some may be better on the 450 than they are on the 250.

Besides, being an underdog takes pressure off and the inexperienced riders can just hang it out. France is the team with all the pressure to win IMO.

Perhaps start a new thread about the U.S.A. winning percentage/podiums attained over the years along with the U.S.A. team members that won ?

List the OA placement of Team U.S.A. over the past 50 years associating the photos you dig up with the respective team... That would be cool! Do the Europeans as well!

These photos are centered on Tomac's decision, and they are following the thread of the conversation a bit, that after 20 pages, it was like a loop and almost everything was said, then I put the photos.
I like Tomac not to go, as I said in those first 20 pages, I would not have included him in my team for not wanting to go last year.
Now with the photos I only add firewood to the fire.
To see how wrong it is not to go if you can choose, the MXDN is part of the big MX story, which may be underpaid, etc, but it is glory and honor, and not always well paid, but The story is forever there for fans of the present and the future.

These photos are absolutely awesome and hell yes they do add firewood to the fire and many of us on here thank you and why the hell not show photos of all our past years of truly American and other country's badasses suited up for once apron a time ago was a big fucking deal??? Some of these photos really fire many up and gets the old pride in USA mx rolling again!! You keep it up and maybe even old #3 will take a peak and say screw it , and go get some!!
