Remove red piece of plastic VP Jug

So I just bought a VP Jug and i wanna attach a hose to it. Problem is I don't know how to get this dumb red piece of plastic out of the cap:


Any help?

Never mind. I removed it with some circlip pliers lol.

I have always used a 1/2" drive ratchet or extension. I'm pretty sure that's what size it is.

Do like I do on any fitting I don't have a tool for: Jam a big screwdriver in there. That'll git 'er done.

Fill the jug with gas and replace the cap. Use a propane torch to heat the cap up. Poke and pry at the red piece with a pick while the torch flame is held just above the cap. Should come right out.
