Manco Added a reply to What is the weight of a yz250 flywheel?
5/23/2023 2:43pm Mostly wishing my XR250r had a YZ250 like flywheel. I owned and rode YZ250s off road for a number of years. I decided to sell them to build an XR250r as wanted a reliable in the long term street legal dirt bike with better gas mileage for long range riding and off road touring. So I sold the YZs and...

Manco Started a new thread What is the weight of a yz250 flywheel?
5/20/2023 9:59pm I am looking to find out how much a stock two stroke yz250 flywheel weighs. Does anyone know off hand or have one they can weigh?

Manco Started a new thread YZ250 Throttle Slide - #8 or #9 for High Elevation Slow Speed Technical
6/28/2020 1:50pm I am tuning a 02 YZ250 for high elevation slow speed technical riding. Most riding will be around 8000 and 12,0000. Sometimes I will be as low as 5000 or as high as 13,000. Average speed on a trail is around 10 mph with some brief slow sections where the bike is in gear and close to idling. Most of...

6/23/2019 1:18pm GPI radiators are a cheaply made radiator. They can be a pain to install as noted by other persons. It may be different models of bikes fit better or maybe quality control is just awful. Sometimes they last a long time and sometimes they don't. Something that needs to be noted about GPI radiators is they are "one hit" radiators...
Manco Added a reply to Help locating discontinued '98 YZ250 tranny parts - NOS preferred
6/23/2019 12:55pm Put a search up on ebay that sends you an email if the parts come up. Something weird about ebay I have found in regards to Yamaha part numbers is the part number needs to be chopped off in a search if it ends in zeros. So for example: 3XK-18540-01-00 SHIFT CAM ASY (92-98 YZ/WR 250) You need to search...
Manco Started a new thread looking for recommendations on two bike hitch haulers
6/16/2019 2:23pm I am in the market for a two bike hitch hauler to haul a Y250 and a TTR125. I having been looking at the Black Widow with the 600lb rating. I own the one bike version and like it so I thought I might just up for the two bike version. The two bike does seem a little long though...

6/16/2019 2:23pm You're gonna laugh when you read this after I pointed out the pluses of flatbeds above. I got rid of the flatbed for being a heavy pig pain in the butt. It was just too much bed for daily driving, errands and weekend excursions. The final straw was having to strap three 2x4s down at Home Depot to bring them...

Manco Started a new thread Least amount of fork fluid? - 04 YZ250 w/ 48mm KYB
6/10/2019 8:51pm I am looking for the specification of the least amount of fork fluid in cubic centimeters that can be put in an 04 YZ250 KYB 48mm front fork tube and still have the fork function properly. I know fluid that can be measured by height but I was just wondering if anyone knows offhand the least amount of cubic centimeters...

6/1/2019 9:53am I was just in the same boat. I wanted a Super Duty for around $5000. You are right. Most of the trucks in that price range are beat to crap work trucks. A lot of them had the motor and/or tranny replaced between 175-225 miles because they were beat on, bodies are trashed, interiors loo like wild animals had been...

6/1/2019 5:54am The truck isn't anything super fancy. Its pretty fun though. Its a 1999 Ford F-250 XLT Super Duty Super Cab 4x4 with a V10, 5 speed manual. It has OEM F-350 rear suspension springs and 4" blocks which makes it an F-350 besides badges and door sticker. Those are the only three things which separated the 250 from 350 in...

5/31/2019 8:35am Its a truck bed camper that will be on the flatbed so there is no place for bikes. I don't want to mess with a trailer for a camper or the bikes for a variety of reasons otherwise I'd go that route. I hate loading bikes into a truck bed. Its a pain in the butt compared to a hitch...

5/30/2019 6:44pm I have been thinking about that. Even if a hitch can handle the downward load the leverage could twist the receiver hitch downwards. Trailers don't do this as they have the wheels keeping the trailer from leveraging downwards. One way to overcome the leverage with a hauler is to run straps from the far end of the hauler back up...

5/30/2019 5:57pm I have seen those. They look nice. My concern is at 120lbs they weigh twice as much as most haulers and at $750 they cost nearly three times as much as most others. I understand "You get what you pay for." Those seem a little excessive though. I have no doubt they are high quality, a little too high quality...

5/30/2019 5:48pm Two bikes is a lot of weight. Not only does the hitch need to have a high tongue rating but the vehicle itself needs a heavy duty rear end. 3/4 ton and up vehicles are needed for 500lbs or more sitting on the rear end. The Black Widow bar I am sure could handle the load for hauling. Regardless though...

5/30/2019 5:38pm The adjustability looks nice but I am a little leery of complex bolt together hitch haulers as they have more parts that add sway and are prone to coming loose. I have hauled several thousand miles with a Harbor Freight and a Black Widow carrier. The Harbour Freight needed regular tightening up and swayed like crazy even when new. The...
