Everyone tries to say how reliable and cheap 2 strokes are, I was amazed at how many of them didn't even make it through practice.

Really cool race , reminds me of when they used to race mode T's at Daytona.

Curious to see how the lap times compared between the 250 class.

I noticed the top guys weren't doing the triples but only a few times.

Are 150's allowed or only 125's?

Rhetorical question, but how amazing are those sounds?! So good!

Thanks for the post; these videos are great race recaps

I was there. The start was so cool. KTM and Husky riders had a clear advantage but the sound and smell was good. Maybe a half dozen really fast guys but only one was hucking it over the big stuff, Livesay I think.

Sipes took a lap or 2 to warm up and then he gapped away.

We didn't run transponders but I'd guess at least 10 seconds slower. From what I've been told, Livesay was the only one doing the two big triples, which for the life of me I can't understand how. Factory 250's weren't getting the triple out of the hole clean. I had to seat bounce just to double! Lol

Up to 150's are allowed. Would have loved to have been on one of them!

Maybe a little aggressive and/or ignorant with the jetting?

Awesome! Tyler is a pretty small dude right? Maybe the power to weight ratio was a lot wider if he was riding a 150?

It's not that high and these guys seem to do OK at 7800.

That was awesome in so many ways.

The entire time watching that, all I could think about was how much 4 strokes tear up tracks compared to those jivers..

And, man, I miss being pegged on the outside of a sweeper on a 2 stroke on fresh tilled, mulch/wood chip RED BUDDDDD back in the early 2000's before everyone and their brother were riding their point and shoot trench digger 450's..

Someone please get JS7 out there. No one has ever ridden a 125 as fast as him.

No machine work just an HPP cylinder and a few other goodies. Built & tuned by me. Nothing really special just runs really well and I make sure everything is tuned just right. I offered to buy him a new KTM/Husky but he turned it down. He likes riding our project bike & then he grew more so I am glad he did...
.
The 454 bike in the video that comes out in the top 5 off the start is running a very similar motor set-up as us. Joel Ard built it.

Almost everyone I know that ran the KTM 125 has said they run well but are the biggest piece of shit ever. These are mostly moto dads that loved the KTM 85's. I think if buying new they are fine but you sure as hell won't see many on the track 15 year from now.................(Disclaimer: I have no brand loyalty whatsoever)......

That might not be a really fair comparison Mammoth goes on for a week and a half and most guys have been there and done jetting I'm guessing a lot of people show up to Colorado and try and figure it out and an hour or two or at least they think they got it figured out but they still might be on the lean side
