Stefan everts (factory zook) said that they talked with him. But they don't want to pay him the amount of money he's asking.
That would have been an interesting combination!

I can't imagine Everts being impressed with the way Barcia rides a bike! His style is pretty much the opposite of how Everts rides.

Anyone else feels it's actually pretty sad? Honestly, when I saw Barcia racing 450 for the first time I was quite sure that it's just a matter of a year or two until he takes the outdoor 450 championship home. What the hell happened since that time?! This kid had wins in his rookie 450 season!

Please, save yourself the "karma bit him in the ass" comments.

Not sure what that's suppose to mean. But since you seem to be a little confused, ll make it more clear for you...

Barcia hasn't lived up to the hype that he was suppose to bring to the 450 class, IMO. Therefore, I don't think that he's earned ANOTHER Factory ride. There are other guys who have proved that they deserve the Factory bikes, more so than Justin.

That's about as clear as I can translate it for you.

Barcia's bike looked unsettled in every part of the track at Thunder Valley.
Thing just pogo sticks off of everything.
Must be the riding style...

He's dating an English monster girl so I don't know if that would influence him trying his hand at the GP's.

Won't be HRC. Tim and Bobby are signed, and better riders.

I agree he hasn't lived up to his potential, but that doesn't necisarily translate to not deserving a factory ride. He is currently 10th overall in the series. If he continues with similar results, who below him in the standings has proven they are "more deserving" of a factory ride, and how have they proved it if not by results?

Has any of JGR riders really succeed? there has been flashes, but really not one has been a threat. Could it be JGR trying too much with their Nascar program goodies, and trying one off stuff on the bikes and goes the wrong way.

Pretty sure Roczen rode the yellow bike pretty aggressively all last year to something like 20 moto wins.

When are people going to stop making excuses about the bike for Barcia's lack of performance....

I think his injuries over the past couple of years are holding him back from performing at his full potential. I don't see Roger being interested in Bam Bam.

What is aggressive?

Speed? Attitude? Sure, Kenny is one of the most aggressive riders on the planet.

Actual riding style and how he rides, revs and shifts? Kenny is fucking low key man. Rides the bikes how they should be.

A couple weeks back one of the shows was discussing Tickle and Kenny, Kenny going 3 seconds faster, standing, 1/2 throttle, 2 gears high. Broc, revving, short lines, sitting... slower.

Certainly debatable if he'll land on a factory team again but laughable that people posting on Vital will tell a guy finishing top 10 in 450s that he needs to learn how to ride.

How? We all know his talent level.

It's not hard to watch him vs Kenny, Eli or Dungey and see or hear he is over-riding the damn bike. Fuck you barely hear Kenny go past... You know when Barcia is three bikes back. Not to mention the various ex-pros that have said the same thing...

By that logic the only people who should/could criticise him are the 10 dudes finishing in front of him... who, btw, he beat heaps in the small bike class where you did have to rev the fuck out of the bike.

I agree there is zero chance he stays at JGR I don't know what happened to that kid but he sure fell off after leaving Honda in a good way he had flashes of brilliance on young and has yet to show any brilliance of this is it it's almost like he's pretty much done as far as his percieved effort to remain competitive.
There has been mention of Factory Redbull KTM but i would be absolutely FLOORED to see that happen .... to be honest, I cant believe its even been mentioned as a rumor by some...
Why would you be FLOORED to see him go to KTM? They took Wilson when he was on a downslide. They can afford, and apparently want, as many bikes out there as possible. The had 3 this year and already lost RD and maybe Canard next (?). So if they can get Barcia relatively cheap, then why not?

I don't get the Barcia to GPs thing. He's always been better at SX than MX and I don't see him doing that great over there. It seems like RCH could be possible since he's already got the Monster connection, but.... whatever.

Your point about Kenny is great but he's also the fastest guy on the planet depending on the month. Really, everyone who finishes from 2nd on can be criticized for riding less than optimal.

I remember DV talking about Barcia and offering to help but he was also pretty confident going into the season helping Christain Craig and that didn't last. My point is easier said than done, everyone still has their opinion and freedom to post it but it's sometimes laughable to me.

I've always wondered why JGR has such a hard time. They obviously have the resources. I mean jeez their pit presence at SX is almost as big as Monster's. And they've had the riders - Stew, Millsaps, JG, Barcia. But they rarely have a good showing. Obviously, it's not easy, but other privately owned programs like RCH, Rockstar, TwoTwo, and now the Butler brother guys have been able to win or run the red plate. They just haven't really put it together.

Seems like they have great people that know what they're doing. And yet, riders rarely go there and do better.

In my opinion, applying the condition that Kenny is the fastest guy on the planet just reinforces the point. Barcia was way better than Kenny in 250s, indoors and out. But they got to 450s and Roczen continued to progress while JB went downward.

Obviously there's injuries and other variables, but they have totally contrasting styles. I think it's less about criticism and just noting how different riding styles work with different bikes and conditions.

I think Barcia has talent in spades. He's shown that. In the big scheme of things, he's also pretty young and based on what I see could use a mentor. He needs a change. A change that will give him a fresh start and a renewed confidence. I don't know who is involved in setting up his bikes, or the process, or who, if anyone, coaches his riding, but some mentor could probably give him a new perspective. In my amateur opinion he works way too hard on the bike to be consistently fast. I don't know if he's open to doing anything different, whether it be setup, riding style, training or life, time will tell. Look at Bogle picking up his life, and going to FL and changing everything. Deano going it on his own to earn a ride. There are guys out there worthy of helping, Barcia is quickly falling into the other category. He's not there yet, but he's on the wrong trend.

Random thought, imagine if Decoster thought he would turn it around and gave him a chance on the 350. That bike was made for him!

JGR has never had one of the top three riders, at the point they were a top rider. Until they get a Dungey, Villo, Roczen, Tomac, they will be fighting for leftovers on the podium. Probably why they were seemingly so upset with Yamaha for taking Webb.

Seen it mentioned a few times that Barcia could end up on the factory KTM, but I have to say at the minute, I don't see how they could be interested. He hasn't really shown anything for almost 2 seasons now that would make you think that KTM would want to put him on a factory bike. It will be interesting to see where he ends up, it seems like he's definitely out at JGR.

They had JS7 and Mudflaps in their prime.

True. JS7 had taken Nationals off the previous year and that has historically not been a winning move.

I agree. I just cannot see Justin Barcia on the same team with guys like Roger DeCoster & Marvin Musquin...and maybe Trey Canard. Team RedBull KTM has had the most professional team in the sport, and that means they've had riders who carried themselves on & off the track as (like it or not) role models. I just don't see that in Barcia.

Rockstar Husqvarna on the other hand, might be just the place with Jason Anderson as his teammate.

And, I can definitely see Barcia doing MXGP.

If you study the data, i bet KRoc used half the revs that Barcia did..
