The polka dot gear was worn this weekend in rememberence of the final Barnum & Bailey circus show, also this weekend. However, the cotton candy colored polka dot gear was ditched because they thought it was just too much.
I thought the same.. should of been worn in that SX circus show.

My initial response was one of revulsion. Now seeing it on Alex, those threads do not look so clownish - but as others have noted...

First, apparently I don't really notice what they are wearing either. Had no idea Alex was outfitted as such this past Saturday.

Second, I think Alex making them look good and some ole vet rider sporting them and looking good is probably a bridge too far.

"Ugliest gear ever!"

Polka dots are ugly, but some people forget the disasters that Alpinestar was putting out a few years ago or how about the Wolff or UFO from the 90's? I remember Smail with some UFO on his KTM 620 that was orange with evil Jack-o-lanterns all over it...

They don't look so bad when you put numbers, names, and sponsors on them. Not for everyone but TLD is sure getting a lot of press as a result of these polkas.

The new line from TLD, with a few exceptions, is the fugliest stuff I have ever seen.

The polka dots were awful, but the Strikt gear with the bullets is still the worst thing I've ever seen.

I think it is doing exactly what it is supposed to be doing. Everybody is talking about it.
Yeah, everybody is talking about it, talking SHIT about it.

The pros are giving a great example of what getting paid to wear or use products can be. Martin brothers = Ringling brothers?

Polka dot gear is possibly the worst looking gear I've seen

Alex Martin made the dots look good! Really like the blue/violet jersey. When Martin wins a moto in that gear, it will look even better.(Photo: Chris Ortiz)

Troy Lee digs into Southern California racing history as part of his aesthetic. I find his wilder gear grows on me if I give it a chance.

My first thought was horse jockey too. The checkered gear would definitely be cool retro look. The dots are not so cool too me.

Funny you should post that.

ONE had it back in 2015, and it was called "The Jockey"

I know all gear companies pull design ideas from one another, but whoever designed the gear at TLD looks to be pretty good at " CTRL+C CTRL+V"

Not speaking specifically about this stuff but, designs can look so much different with sponsor logos, numbers and butt patches. I used to think McGrath's helmets looked trick but the replicas looked crap without the Cytomax, 1800collect, Spy logos and all of the other little details...
