Hello everyone. I'm in the market for a new Helmet. My current helmet is a Bell Moto-8 and is a bit dated in terms of safety compared to what's out there now. I can decide between 3 helmets. I'm looking at the Fly F2 Carbon, Bell MX-9 with MIPS, and the new SE4 Polyacrylite helmets from TLD. Style and colors aside, which of these 3 are the safest and what are there pros and cons?
Can say the tld and bell are far superior quality. The fly will squeak on your head. Kinda like a dry door hinge type squeak. How ever, the tld and bell are very very close is quality and I can not discriminate between the two. Tld/bell have a different fit to the fly. Definitely worth trying on in a shop. We sell both helmets at the shop I work at and the bell out sells, but I think this is due to reputation.

$189.95 - $239.95
The new Troy Lee SE4 is really impressive and I believe Troy-himself is really pushing hard to make a safe helmet.
Higher price does not equal more safety. You can probably make a slight case that supports 6D for example, but again, no one really knows and tests can't confirm every crash situation.
There are a lot of very-good sub-$300 helmets. That new TLD SE4 is a good example.
$235!!! for an SE4 Poly in mono-colors.

Weight difference is 1300 grams for the most expensive and 1500 grams for the poly. Out of curiosity I weighed my TLD Air (which I really, really like) - it weights about 1450.
