Yes he said at the press conference that he hasn't made up his mind but obviously he wants to keep everything calm and quiet till the job is done tonight and let's face it, his odds a very good to win the title and this would be the perfect timing to announce it.

I'd say yes he will announce it tonight, title or not.

Yes, doubt he races outdoors either

My money is on him announcing his retirement, but he races outdoors this year.

I said it in another thread but the fact that Marvin has signed his contract extension and dungey hasn't tells me that dungey is calling it a day. I am curious to see if he races the outdoors. I'm fairly confident that he is contractually obligated to race them.

He's eluded to racing outdoors already.

Yup. Wrap up the championship, kiss the wife, hug Mom, tell the fans you love them, thank the Man Above. Then use the outdoors as your farewell tour. Total class act. He's seen Stew, Reed, and Villo go out in the worst ways.

Whatever he does he will go out the right way - reputation intact and happy with what he achieved. No drama, no BS. Top man.

Looks that way and I think he will be outdoors or at least a few selected rounds

I think he will be back to try for another sx championship. He's healthy and on a great team, why stop now. Just my thoughts.

This is the last year of his contract and the outdoor series is part of that. Barring injury he should race the whole series.

Yes I think he will probably even announce it before the main and during his heat race interview.

Nope. He will retire but it wont be a dramatic ordeal. KTM will just do a PR some random day, Probably halfway through outdoors whether he races them or not.

I keep hearing that Dungey is considering retiring in order to start a family, but I don't understand that reason. Why can't he race and have a family at the same time?

He will race the outdoors. Going through the motions of playing it safe and not risking injury. Finish 2nd or 3rd in the series, represent KTM like a professional then quietly retire like he deserves. If i were in his shoes, I would walk after sx. Outdoors is higher risk and he simply doesnt have anything to prove to anyone.

Why is the sport of SX/MX so different where some retire as soon as they have proved something? Why not continue racing for fun and for money?

Yes, he is the corporate dream. However, he lacks personality. Ryan is obviously a great rider and person, but he is boring to watch. Very predictable with what he says, how he acts, and how he rides. I've said for years he's hard to not like, but I don't enjoy watching him win. When he wins, there's no excitement and it was a boring race. This season has been the exception to that.

Because he has said already he doesnt want to do that and he wants to start a family while he is healthy and young.

KDub had flair and personality. Polar opposite of Dungey. It is what it is. It isnt a knock on the guy. Hes just vanilla when most people want schizoberry punch

Completely wrong. KDUB is my all time favorite. Kevin also rode with his own style and he had some attitude, but kept it in check until it was needed. Don't you recall him punting DV off the track? Kevin wasn't scared to get aggressive on the track. Everyone knows Dungey lacks aggression.

I also lived right down the road from Kdub and was around him long before most people knew who he was. Heck,my ex delivered his first child.

If you're watching Mx for the interviews and what they do off the track then you're doing it wrong

I was in the mx game when you were still shitting your pants. I think I know how to watch a race.
I tend to be a fan of riders who have personality on and off the track. I have nothing against Ryan and nothing bad to say about him, just not a fan and find him boring.
