Elis strategy in Vegas? Hookers and Blow. Its been a long heart breaking season, relax for a minute before the outdoors.

^^^^Even if he did bunch the whole field up....Dungey would still pass his way to second or third!!! Good racing is what we've all been waiting for and this weekend should deliver. Not just in 450 but 250 is going to be even more interesting

Man, I got so confused rewatching this race lol. I thought how could Reed not win the championship when he wins rocking a red plate? Problably had different red plate rules I don't remember.

Without a mechanical Dungey has this in the bag.. Even if Eli wins, unfortunately the only guys that have the speed to come between Eli and Ryan are Ryan's teammate, his training partners, or Satellite team members. The only hope for Eli is if Reedy gets the itch to mix things up.
Even more unfortunate, is even if Ryan beats his extended teammates fair and square, some will accuse them of easing up.. Last weeks race is proof that is possible.

You're saying Dungey beat Marvin fair and square? Wow, KTMs pissing on your head and telling you its raining.

Eli's strategy should be to fucking win. let everything else go as it may.

if Grant should show Dungey a wheel or two, big fuckin whoop, it's a contact sport, bro. and if Musquin should get in and pull a Mike-Alessi on Tomac, then so be it.

No maybe I worded that wrong. I meant its very possible his teammates ease up.

You want to be in 2nd behind Dunge all the way down to the last lap. You want to haunt him the entire way. Then as early as you can in the last lap you gotta some how take him out so he finishes as far back as possible.

Is this what I would do? Probably not. I would probably just try and win and see how it all ends up. But that is your best strategy to win the title if you really don't care what people think.

And many have done it.
moose-can would be there also, so that would be interesting. cant wait for Vegas ... Cant wait for outdoors!! I heard JS7 might be coming back, maybe I will start a new thread about that.

Was there a reason offered (from a legitimate source) for why Eli took SOOOOO long to get back up & going last race?

If there was (aside from typical VitalExpert commentary), I missed it.

That was kind of mind boggling and painfull to watch, all at once.

I like the idea about passing RD then letting him by, then passing him again, just doing that several times, then finish 1st, then throw his goggles in disgust, then sweep the outdoors. thats his only way to "save face" for his melt down last weekend.

gate grant as near to dungey as possible, have him jump early and hit the gates hopefully throwing dungeys start off like in Daytona. If that fails something along the lines of reed on stewart in '09

Reed on Stewart in '09 was literally a loser move.

I see Eli riding his own race and letting the chips fall where they may, which is the only appropriate thing to do.

If I were Eli, I'd line up to the inside, get a jump on him, and take him all the way out to the tuff blocks in the first turn. Brake check him all the way out there and wait for 3 seconds, then take off and hope I can pass a lot more riders than he can.
That's Tomac's only real hope.

No, but it looked to me like he got flustered and nearly gave up.

Eli's only true hope is to start next to dungey let him stay in front and then take him high up the berm so his front goes over and sprint to the front of the pack hoping dungey doesn't have time to catch 4th

It's alarming to see how many of you morons actually want to see Tomac take out Dungey in order for him to win the championship.

If the roles were reversed this wouldn't even be a discussion about whether or not Dungey would take Tomac out.

I would like to see Tomac start backwards and come from behind to win, that would be more memorable and more likely than Dunge finishing worse than 5th.

If I were Eli, I would think bunching them up behind me would be my only chance at gaining 9 points.

You seriously think that would work? Like if he slows down no one will bother to pass, just all pile up and slow down with him? No one will get by?

Frickin stupidest thing I've heard, come on guy....Pinch

Since velodrome and SX are the same, here is Eli practicing his Vegas tactics. You know, gotta bunch 'em up to win!

Down by 9 and have to beat the Diesel for the championship? No easy task you might think, but...

Simple, you have to knock him off his game. How do you do that? It has been proven by everyone from J-Law to Villopodium that getting under his skin works quite well. Hound him in practice, do your best to make the same heat race, then screw with him some more. ET3 needs to send him the message of "This is MY title and I am NOT just gonna let you have it." all day long. Heck, send him a text saying "I am knocking you into section 418 row Z in the main brah!". Just do what it takes to get him thinking about anything other than the task at hand. It can be done!

Dude, I'm sorry are you really that clueless. I honestly didn't know if you were serious, but it does appear you are that dumb. If you don't understand the concept you just don't understand racing period.

Did you see the Salt Lake City Race? Do you realize Tomac could have probably pulled over when leading, let everyone by, and then passed everyone again for the win? Yes, he is that dominant when he's on and no one can touch him.

Did you see the Chad Reed/Ryan Dungey incident? Do you realize Chad Reed is approx 3 seconds slower than Eli?

If you don't have the brains to piece these two situations together then we cannot help you. If he slows the pace, bunches them up, and someone gets around him, he'll just pass them right back. Meanwhile, all the dicing starts in the pack behind him. It doesn't take half a brain to figure this out.

If you've ever watched supercross, have you seen what happens behind Vince Friese when he starts blocking?? Go take a look and maybe, just maybe you'll understand.
It appears you're well outnumbered on the 'bunch em up' theory...
Try a different sport. Numbskull.
