Budds Creek 1990. Guy Cooper and Mike Kiedrowski were 1 point apart for the 125 championship. Kiedrowski's Honda teammate Jean Michele Bayle was ordered to help Kiedrowski win the title and when he refused Honda team manager Dave Arnold did not allow Bayle to race.

So all you dorks crying about team tactics chew on that.

Good call. I think Dave Arnold talked about this on the podcast Matthes did with him. If I remember right, they brought Bayle in for that race (don't think he was racing the whole series?) Bayle still got paid that day

Another key race for Bayle was one that he didn't race. In 1990 at Budds Creek, JMB showed up healthy, but was told to move over for Kiedrowski to help with points. JMB said, “No.” So Honda team manager Dave Arnold benched him for the day. As Bayle told me recently, “Yeah, ok you pay me to just watch the race? Cool!”

I've been looking for the video but couldn't remember what race. It was Budds. Bayle threw a fit and Dave locked the bike in the trailer.

Didn't Bayle clash with all of his teammates while he was in America? Does not surprise me to hear he would not do it and I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with ethics.

He had no problem cashing a check for sitting on the sidelines

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the big difference in this situation is the relationship between the two riders...

Who wouldn't move over for their best friend with something this huge on the line? I asked about 15 people that at the track today, they all said they would've done what Marvin did if it was their best bud (like Marvin and Ryan are).

Hannah done the same for Bailey too didn't he? He talked about it in an interview, after the race he demanded the win bonus and Honda paid it.

Bayle was behind him and tried his best to stay behind. However, after a certain point Bradshaw was riding so terrible that he finally passed him.

I don't care one way or the other about this stuff. It's just irritating seeing people constantly whine about how the world isn't perfect or everything should be proper and by the book. The world is a dirty place and the picture is much bigger than most of us can imagine.

It's great to teach your kids to always do the right thing....I teach my kids this, but at some point they are going to grow up and eventually get screwed over for no reason other than there is a bigger picture involved. Small minded people cry about it to the end of time.....big picture people learn to later on use it to their advantage.

Yep, it's a lot easier to sleep at night knowing you lied, cheated, and stole your way to the top. I'd rather die poor then sell out and live against my morals, screwing people every step of the way to get ahead. Everyone is equal when they die, money can't save you from that.

JMB was not willing to help also because MXkied put him on the ground in SX around the round 5 to 7, which hurt his shoulder, ending in a bad finish plus to miss 1 race, and that potentially costed him the 90 sx championship. (Decided by less than 10 or 15 points if i remember well)

hahaha..... honestly, I think that is dumbest shit I've read so far today. Good for JMB not kissing ass, but lets not act like Marv's action's were morally unacceptable. Either way Marv probably got paid (possibly more for helping out) the same as if he won, helped out someone considered a friend, and built his rep even more with the KTM bosses (who were in attendance). Lastly, as it has been said before, his actions were same as other teams in the past.
