If I were Eli Tomac I would pay the fine! Slap on the wrist for sure and I bet Reed feels it was worth every penny

They could have banned him for life and the Dunge fan club would be clamoring for more..

They're as soft as their idol.

SO Reed gets penalized for this (he probably deserves it) But Barcia gets nothing for basically riding around all night trying to destroy anyone that got near him.

the Ray #314 incident was the only one on TV. During the whole day he was trying to slam anyone near him.
They definitely need to do something about barcia, hes going to hurt someone. Hes just doing whatever he can to stay relevant, cause his speed is obviously not there. I dont get him. On a 250 he was definitely better in sx, but since 2014 sx has gone shitty. I know hes missed the better part of the last 3 sx seasons, but gezz not even a sniff of the podium. Im confident he'll turn it around outdoors and be a top 5 guy with the occasional podium but he'll never be a title contender again IMO.

This has blown up way out of proportion.
Dungey wasn't going to catch Tomac anyway. After dungey got away from Reed, Tomac continued to gain time.
Yeah, it wasn't good sportsmanship from Reed, but I seriously doubt the result would have been any different, Had this not happened.
I think the dungey fans are letting out their frustration as the realisation sinks in that he may not get this championship, and that Tomac is simply the better rider this season.

Chad didn't ride crazy, he held his line...if Dungey is so much faster it shouldn't have been an issue.

What I do love though is Dunge made his comment on the podium, Chad didn't say shit, didn't get all tough on twitter, but he SHOWED Dungey how he felt....nothing wrong with that.

Something to be said for no talk and all action in a generation full of snowflakes
Ya, Reed really showed him - Reed rode to a 16th place finish and the only way he was capable of making a statement to Dungey was road blocking him for 3 laps as a lapper. That's quite the statement he made, LOL. Reed was irrelevant in the race.

And as for "holding his line", I don't know what you guys saying this were watching or maybe your idea of "holding your line" and mine are totally different because I've seen 4 year olds on PW 50s with training wheels on the kid tracks "hold their lines" better than Reed did. I was there in person, section 127, about 10 rows up - right in front of the dragon backs. Reed was taking the left hand side (inside) on the corner after the finish line triple, then immediately cross jumping to the right side line and staying right through that section and the ensuing 180, then immediately jumped to the left line through the dragon backs, then jumped to the inside right line through the corner after the dragon backs. That ain't "holding your line" in my book. Dungey was switching his lines up trying to get around him and Reed was switching it up trying to block him in those sections.

Reed rode a GREAT heat race, and Dungey had no reason to be whining - none at all. But Reeds little temper tantrum in the main event was well worthy of his new nickname - the "douche douche".

Glad the AMA did something but this is weak.
Reed's crime is not refusing to yield the racing line when being lapped. What Reed did was cheat maybe one million fans viewing the race of watching what we have been waiting all season for. ET and RD going bar to bar fighting for the championship. Its what race fans hope all season to see, and Reeds childish selfishness stole that away from all of us.
It hurt our sport.
Reed should be suspended for 3 races for his 3 laps of self centered actions.

If Reed was pissed at Dungy and punched him in the face between heat races, I would have no problem with it. I would still be a Reed fan. But when he decided to take away what could have been the seasons best battle from us, he told all of us to F*** Off.
So F*** you to Reed.

Prove it then. Prove that Marvin was capable of running Tomacs speed like Dungey was. You can't, because it's totally false. Dungey reeled Marvin in last week after a horrible start. Marvin has beat dungey what, about 5 times in his whole entire career and you want to sit here and accuse him of dropping the anchor for Dungeys championship hopes? Get real man, you are absolutely a complete moron.

Why are people so butthurt on Marvin behind the dunge? He can pull off and finish 22nd if he feels like it. he can do wheelies behind the dunge all night, what gives?

I was hoping Chad could win one this year. No longer. CR cannot deal when he's being schooled by younger-faster riders, week in and week out. Especially - when he's called out for it on TV.

Race your race Chad, if all you have in ya is a 16th place, then you're still faster than 99.9% of the public, But don't be a little girl about it.

Forever he will now be #CRtutu in a little pink skirt, - little Princess.

This thread is for all the Reed fans to come and:
Say why the penalty is wrong
Say why it doesnt matter anyway
Say why Reed still doesnt have to own up
Say why Marvin played team tactics so ....(why is this mentioned again?)
Say how Dungey cant pass
Say how Dungey wont beat Tomac... ( why do we have races again???)

But it is old and lame. Let it go.

I don't know about you guys, but I never saw Reed block Dungey in any way. There were times when Dungey would drop more than a second back behind Reed. It didn't look like a blocker intentionally taking away better lines from a faster rider, it looked like someone struggling to pass someone not much slower than them.

Someone said before that those three laps were Reed's fastest. I don't doubt that, and I don't doubt that he sped up in order to keep in front of Dungey. But he was just riding. Riding faster, and therefore Dungey found it hard to pass him. He did it for a bit of payback for sure, but that's not the same as intentionally blocking a faster rider.

Lappers aren't obliged to pump out slow laps. They're obliged to stay out of the way, they're not obliged to get passed.

Just like the Stewart situation last year, massively overblown.
Interesting point. They're still racing and on the track. He did pull back away, and he didn't move over to block RD.

I would expect better out of the man moderator?
Racing is racing and if you have to pass me while lapping me, you best pass me, I'm not moving over.

Ok, so I just watched it on TV for the first time since I just got home from the trip. The TV coverage didn't do the incident justice. In person, it was way more obvious on Reed's line choices and how he was riding. The lap times were very telling none the less, but the TV coverage just didn't show just how bad Reed was swapping lines, cross jumping, etc - especially the section before the dragon backs and in the dragon backs. That was where Dungey was making up his time on Eli (and everyone).

Fair penalty. Basically a retrospective black flag, the punishment anyone that has actually read the blue flag rule would agree with.

Held his line? He blocked the race line... Have you seen the lap times? Reed sped up significantly to stay in front of Dungey. They were his fastest 3 laps. Kind of ironic.

Theres no excusing this and what a terrible sportsman example to give to kid racers out there.

Im huge Reed fan, but this was a really shitty move that tarnishes his epic legacy.

I really hope he gets in front of this and apologises publicly.

As a fan, I have faith that he will.

Fiction. Those were not his fastest 3 laps.

Wise decision, logical.

There must be somewhat an example as this can't be recurrent, not by Reed but lappers occasionally during the seasons.

First two races, we all knew Tomac could never pass Dungey. Now all the geniuses know that Dungey could never pass Tomac..you must all be rich. None of this has any bearing whatsoever on the the issue at hand.
