(Not my video...I found it on YouTube) I think it's in Idaho...as best I can tell from the comments...no matter the location its crazy...crazy scary and crazy beautiful. I LOVE mountain single track...but this kind of stuff...it made me cringe a couple of times...

Anyway...I figured it was worth a share here.

I won't lie. A couple of spots drawed my junk up. Beautiful scenery though.

I generally tell people I don't like one-mistake sports. I like sports where you get LOTS of them.

There are several one-mistake spots in that video. Smile

I couldn't help but think of the opportunity for a landslide in a few of those cliff-top sections.

Yea- what he said above.

That certainly isn't California. They would toss you in Jail here for riding in such a nice spot!

I tend to agree with this 100% There is no point to risking some of that stuff unless you have a deathwish.

I had no idea Idaho was so beautiful, I definitely want to go there, just on a mule or maybe a MTB...

Def not on a two stroke!

I've ridden alpine single track in Montana, and the local guys would ride right along the edge of those sheer cliffs. Meanwhile, I would lay my bike down 12 feet from the edge and crawl over on my hands and knees so I could see over the edge- all the while fighting panic and anxiety.

Then the locals would show me all the near-vertical chutes that they hit on their snowmobiles in the winter...

Holy hell! No thanks.

You break down on that trail in certain places, you may as well just push it over the edge.

Sounds like me up in Colorado lol! Some gnarly trails with zero error factor can be found. I didn't even want to walk some of them. And then some dude that looks like 65years old in a open face helmet and blue jeans cruises by on a kdx 200 standing up the whole time.

Agreed! That shale section with the steep drop off to the right was nuts. One slip up and gravity will suck bigtime.

This is true......be careful making fun of locals on kdx's.....some of them will flat out leave your 2017 ktm 300 xc in the dust.

I felt that way almost the whole time when I single track the Rockies......not only that but if you fall and break a bone..Which is absolutely possible at any time anywhere.......might be best just to shoot you right there like a horse........the alternative is not fun or cheap.

In 2013 I rode the Wyoming Creek Trail in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho. 40 miles of pure fear.....and you had to put the fear in the back of your mind or you were in deep sheet. We were 60 miles into a 100 miler when we got there and there was no turning back! It took all of my skills to navigate these last 40 miles. If I had slipped it was all over....and I had several close calls .....

I see very little of that looks "fun" to me. Scenery is incredible though.

Oh no, not making fun at all.! Seriously. Some of the most intense riding ive ever seen has been by people you wouldn't expect it from up there. Much respect and admiration. I'm a motocrosser Not a mountain goat. Just driving the truck up to some of the trail riding spots around Silverton Colorado is enough to leave skids in my shorts.

Anyone know where that is? That's added to the bucket list for sure, what an awesome ride! Once you get used to riding near steep slopes you really don't even notice them for the most part, you just pretend they aren't there.

Not that the trail isn't tough but the GoPro fish eye lens makes it look steeper than it actually is. I love that type of riding I've been talking with my cousin in Idaho hope to ride the Tour of Idaho someday 1550 miles

I read everyone's comments, before watching the video. In all honesty, I ride stuff just like that. Don't get me wrong, it looks pretty scary when he looks over the edge, but it's not as bad when you're on the bike. There are trails up in the Piutes and even Kennedy Meadows that have everything that video had in it. Some of the guys I ride with take me on some trails that have me cussing them through all the do or die sections, but at the end of the day, it makes me a much better rider.

Bruce,
You missed a great day @ Bean when I saw you a couple weeks ago. Dirt was epic and we even got some crazy snow blizzards at the top of the mountain. Let me know when your ready to go off road, I plan on riding with Piutes or Bean this weekend, if you can make it.

This is as close as I would get when riding along the edge of a cliff. That guy is nuts! I've been wanting to head out west to ride, this gives me the itch even more.
