One day Dungeys luck will run out and he won't be gifted 2nd place.

Cship is over unless dunge crashes out or a mechanical dnf , tomac starts is too inconsistent to win out or make up huge chunks of pts

He'll need to make up 24pts on dungey, no less. He would own the tie breaker with W's.

You and I both know you are trolling and fishing. However I can't resist. To say Ryan is "gifted second" is just plain ignorant. And disrespectful.

Dungey isn't "lucky" he's just smart, he knows when to push and when not to. Why fight for first and risk a dnf when you can take second and know that Tomac will mess up another night and you'll get those points anyway.

If Tomac had been more consistent then Dungey wouldn't have such a great lead. Stop hating on Dungey just because he's smarter.

How exactly was he gifted 2nd place? From what I saw last night he worked hard to get 2nd.

The guy works hard and gives it 100% all the time.

Dungey getting injured or a mechanical is what it will take

He has to win every round and hope Dungey finishes worse than second at a round. If they finished out the SX season going 1-2 at the remaining rounds, then they'd tie in points but tomac would have more wins for the tie breaker. That's my understanding.

Tomac needs someone other than himself to beat dungey. Tomac can't keep winning and have Dungey getting second.

Tomac is 100% in charge of this title.....as long as he wins every race. He has the speed right now to do that but hasn't ever show the consistency to. Dungey only has to win one(or finish 3rd to a Tomac second) and it's out of Tomacs control. Short of a miracle you might as well start calling him 4 time right now.

And that's a double edged sword. If Musquin/Baggett/Reed,etc step up it up enough to beat Tomac too ( for a win or two between now and the end of the series), a Tomac 2nd and Dungey 3rd is worth one less point for Tomac's quest to close the points gap.

On a day like yesterday. MM gets sick and Anderson loses a wheel , Dungey would have had another 2 to get by, plus no Coop, and to think he only has the same amount of wins as Roczen, and Eli has double that . I hope the points gets turned round quick so he has to race for it every week.

That damn front brake! If it wasn't for that....this points gap would be a lot smaller. Everything will have to be perfect for Eli the rest of the season to win this thing. Very rarely do we ever see Ryan make any mistakes out there...so it'll be a tough task on Eli's part. These next few weeks will be interesting.

Any of you didn't watch yesterdays race? It wasn't first time this year he almost went over the bars and Seely coming in just little faster he would have t-boned Dungey out or even get injury. He been really lucky more than couple times. Sure he works hard, rides fast and doesn't ride with too high risk. Gifted might be strong word but lucky he has been.

Hard not to do the coulda shoulda on that. Let's say Tomac gets up to 3rd at Arlington (that's 14 more points) at the same time dropping Dungey 1 place further back (2 points)....Tomac would be 8 down on Dunge right now. But, as we all know, that's racing!! Points that close, though, I think we see a different Dungey.

Eli could bait Dungey into a head slap or something and hope a race official catches it. ( Ala- JB51)

He's also lost a title due to bad luck.

Eli has to win out, and or hope that Dungey makes a mistake (which we all know is highly unlikely). Eli has the speed and talent to do it, he just needs to be more consistent with his starts.

Last night Dunge proved he is still just as talented as ever moving through the pack. I think if Marv was healthy and Anderson didnt have bike troubles in the beginning and Coop was racing, maybe he would have had more trouble, but we cant play that what if game. Thats how racing goes. Who knows maybe Dunge will have that bit of bad luck himself.

Its going to be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Great way to bait and switch. This post is about what it Eli will have to do to win the Championship, not what Dungey will have to do so that Eli can win the Championship. I say stop trying to drag Dungey down, and focus on what things Eli must do to win. As it is like this you come across like a whiny brat.

I'd say it was lucky friese's bike didn't come down that berm a tenth of a second earlier. I'd say it's Lucky that he didn't go down when seely slammed into him.
