Built this Yeti SB5c from the frame up for XC and XC Marathon races. 21.5 lbs. I also do most of my training for Moto, XC/HS on this - amazing bike.

Picked this up used. It is a lot easier to hit the local trails when I can not make it to the mx track.

Not sure how long you've had yours, I've had mine a little over a year and they've had to warranty both front and rear brakes.
Ironically the only issue I've had wth the bike was the Cane Creek rear shock. I sent it in for warranty but replaced it with a Rock Shox Debonair, such a massive improvement. I got the bike in late 2014 and it's been bulletproof

Thank you, I cam off a 2007 Giant trance2 26. Love it.
A few reason on the upgrade. One the stock wheels only lasted about 50 miles. The rear couldn't keep the spokes tight and the front wheel folded. Very cheap material. Sad, because most specialized epic models come with the same wheel. I weight 200 pounds as well. With some talking to the bike shop and specialized, I was able to score the traverse's new for 70% off retail. One of the best investment Ive made. From sitting on it the first time with these wheel I could feel the stiffness. Gave me way more confidence in the bike then what I already had, plus I can run a little lower psi now to get a little more tire to the ground.

smart move on the upgrade, being a moto guy and 200lbs im sure you can push an xc bike right to its limit. Im only 185 lbs and find they are a bit flexy, Ive had the sworks epic before with the control wheels but had good luck with them actually. I've ridden the traverse as well and really like how they are more planted, and wider tire footprint. That was cool of the shop to offer you that discount! good on them, happy trails dude!

Defiantly the control wheels are very flexible, and like you said being a moto guy I can push kinda hard. Well that didn't end well lol. I was having to run 25 plus psi to keep my tires beaded . I liked them other than the flex. Have zero complaints about the Traverse's.
I bought from a fellow racer at Supercool bike shop in Gainesville, FL. Martin is his name, super nice guy and loves dirt bike people. That helped out a lot on the upgrade. Total I have $3,600 invested in this bike.

How far away is Whistler from you? Ride on man!

Had to come back and look at your bike again. I ended up winning my first race in sport 45-49. 36 guys in my class! It was a TT with lots of fast downhills. one lap around 50 min. full on sprint. couple mxers in other classes. I ran the thunderburts and they were fast but sketchy. since i was leading the points i kept it rolling. won 5 out my 7 races to win the title. pretty pumped. now I'm up to the big boys class. expert 40-49 is one of the fastest classes of the day, plus an extra lap.. I picked up a carbon hard tail frame for next year. Its fat bike season here in michigan, so you were right, its addicting!

Hell yeah, man! Sounds like you killed it this year. Good luck in the expert class, it’s no joke! It took me 2 years of hard work to see the podium again.
Do the work this winter and that’ll help build you up for that 2nd lap you’re going to get soon.
I’ve been training on my all-mountain bike for 3 months, just about ready to jump back on my BMC. I’ve been having the best time riding with my girl and bombing down stuff i usually stay away from. 130mm and a dropper post has been a game changer!

I picked this used Ninner RIP9RDO 4 star build last year for Christmas. Its been a really fun bike to ride so far and my first high end bike. Its all carbon and weighs 26lbs.
