I get the impression that Big James is more into it than James.

I think Ralph said that Big James has been saying we will see him before the year is out. I have a hard time believing Daytona, I just feel like no way he shows up super unprepared and I would think we would see SOMETHING of him riding or what ever if he was preparing. Who knows, I sure as hell don't, so I definitely could be way off.

Happy retirement James, thankyou for all the races I was able to see you in. You were one bad ass on a motocycle and I for one will miss you. and again thankyou. Enjoy your family.

From a marketing & sponsorship standpoint, and fan excitement, the Stewart family info to Taft and Sheheen will make the next 3 weeks great forum material.

Didn't the statement come out like "ready to get on the and race Daytona?" Sounds like a half hearted attempt. His brain will right checks his body can't cash. I hope he doesn't get severely injured.

Most people haven't figured out that has been the MO for quite some time.

Keep 'em guessing!

I like Malcolm and think it's cool that he did his own deal but I think we saw his best days as a 450 rider the first couple of weeks. I'm not sure he really wants to be out there.

Who told you he doesn't wanna race? And where do you get the "he doesn't wanna be out there" statement from? Geez you people

I thought he said Daytona, and that has been the rumor we've been hearing.

I am sure he shows up there, but no bets on whether he finishes a race.

45 years of being around professional motorcycle racing. I'm not sure he really wants to be out there. is an opinion and I may be wrong but saying Mookies heart has never been 100% into racing motorcycles is not a stretch. This thread turned into Big James wanting it more than JS7 on the first reply, I think that may be going on here too.

I don't think James has started riding the Honda yet which is a bit unsettling. I would be willing to bet that he's at least rode laps on a supercross track on a weekly basis though and been in the gym and on the bicycle. If he has it in his mind that he will be racing I'm sure he's done something besides sit at home and hang out with his family in preparation for Daytona, as many of the vitards believe.

I see him trying to pull a josh grant a la Daytona last year and come out one time fast as balls once the field has thinned out a bit and earn himself a ride with a team who just lost a rider for the rest of the season.

Not gonna happen. He will be back for outdoors on Malcolm's ride. They will alternate.
2/19/2017 2:15pm
No way James would alternate and choose to ride the outdoors!
James a SX guy, everyone knows that.
If he races Daytona he will be in shape, if hes doing a farewell lap hes out of shape.

But if he does a farewell lap, on what bike and why would he ride a Honda? If theres a lap for the fans it going to be on a chevy kawi 125.

Either way we can't really judge James over his last season (16), his last season ended before it even started. 2015 the dude was banned. 2014 was pretty good though. James in shape could be a 2014 James no doubt.

I mean, if I was on the verge of retirement, in questionable shape, and considering a comeback, Daytona would definitely be on the top of my list of places to do it. Makes perfect sense.

The same rider who went 24-0 in 450 class and has dominated outdoors. Did you forget his 125 era? 2008? 2012?

James fitness will speak volumes of his goals.......

And maybe, just maybe..... JS7 wants to leave the sport on his terms. I never thought the suspension could be the death of Stew. His success is completely up to him.

Ofcourse, but I bet that if he got to choose he rather race sx than outdoors.
I hope he has figured out a deal and got a himself a bike he feel he can race on.
The guy got nothing to prove, but if he lines up as how it is right now its because he's eager to race.
Time will tell.

Isn't Daytona quite the gnarly track to make your first re-appearance on?

You do realize his results have improved since the first couple weeks right?
