I am sure they will get it figured...for sure abusing the clutch is one of the negatives about Hydros in that you dont know its fried until it is....but 95% of people out there would never abuse it like top Pros would so not a major issue. I guess in Reed's case they have no choice but to go back to cable as what else could they do if still using Hydro?? What could be some solutions guys?
The thing is they have the same problem now like they had last year. So there is nothing that points to it getting fixed.

And like a few others said, clutch abuse is not the reason for the poor starts since the clutch is brand new.

He's always all about the stats. Just working on moving past LaRocco on the poor starter list.

It's the rider, guys come on.

I like Reed too but let's be real. Team mate gets good starts on the same bike, Reeds even had good starts on that bike. He's shooting himself in the foot by not using the new starting technology everyone else is. He can only blame himself.

"Yamaha should be embarrassed they can't make a clutch that lasts 20 minutes." Like are you serious dude? Laughing

When you quote something you are suppose to type it word for word, not paraphrasing bro. You should probably go back and read ML's posts, seriously...

This week he started on the inside, got off the gate slow and got together with another and stopped before the first corner.
His race was basically catch up from there.

Sorry, there's word for word. Still just as ridiculous mate and now your names attached to it again.

His starts were talked about on racerx earlier this week. They said he doesn't like using the GET data or the start button like everyone else. The team said he is old school and doesn't trust it. This is why cooper gets good starts and Chad doesn't.
This right here is why he has Shitty starts. No point of beating around the bush thinking it's his clutch. If everybody on the gate is using mapping technology, starting systems, etc. and CR is trying to go old school, that is going to be a massive disadvantage

Chad had the same problem when he had a hydro on Hondas, he's a clutch abuser and doesn't feel them going away when the hydro keeps adjusting, until it's too late and it's fried (this was his own comments when he had one on Hondas)

This is one of those items that makes me scratch my head, because I thought I was told he requested it...

Yamaha needs to get their shit together. How you gonna spend all that money rebuilding a team, hiring one of the biggest names in the sport, spend a dickload on Webb, and let a fucking clutch and testing pull you down. Ridiculous. They need to look at Honda and their effort. All in.
Look how much better Dean is instantly on the Husky

Clutch issues yeah right, the only thing slipping is his brain,do you think a man who has been around as long as him would be struggling with something as simple as the actuation of a clutch?

^^^ What he said, was reeds deal a two year or does it have an option at the end of this year? Does he look else where if he wants to race next year or does he persist with yams if he works out the issue? Maybe the RCH ride could have been a good option a couple years ago and with their current crop of riders do you think they would entertain Reed for next year he could possibly help bring in some sponsors more so than the others

Picked inside gate. Dont think I've ever seen him do that in his career.

Shows the desperation at this point.

One thing I have picked up on be it as little as it is and could have no actual bearing on things in his mind, but from my point of view he has been very quiet on social media lately and everyone knows a happy Reed is always posting stuff online and updates regularly but maybe things aren't all good at team blue hence how quiet he has been of late?

i just watched it in slowmotion his reaction time is there, bike does not spin at all until he hits the gate with his rear wheel and then the bike is everywhere.

He gets killed on reaction time. He's the better part of a wheel length behind before he gets to the gate. Guy to his right is moving long before he is. He needs to pick a different spot to look for movement and/or alter how he releases clutch to get hooked up and moving sooner.

Everyone is a Yamaha tech and goes to the races with Yamaha now

I thought Reed had been with the same clutch manufacturer for many years and has been on record saying their clutches would always be in his bikes?

Does Yamaha not give him the option to run which brand he wants?

I'm a huge Yamaha fan but its unacceptable to only have one blue bike in the main event.

When he's on a cable clutch, he has to adjust it himself...so he knows how far gone it's getting. On the hydro, he just forgets and goes ham on it. Once again, his own admission after he was on Hondas with one.

Yeah, he got a 5th while everyone was sitting in the mechanics area.. What did he get last weekend. Not to mention, the Husky is a Factory bike.. The Yamaha was basically a stocker with a pipe and kit suspension.. So tired of hearing about the bike.. Cooper seems to be able and ride it..

Name one highly successful team in the pits that uses an OE clutch.

Honest question. Has Reed ridden a brand that he has not complained about as part of his problems, while simultaneously given credit to the brand when succesful?

Well Johnny that's Yamahas fault not Dean's. they should have put a factory bike under him..

Cooper did seem to figure something out last week that made him more comfortable.

Reed has to get it to his liking to be up front. He hasn't found it yet... but he's super picky.

The bike is different and hard to adjust to at their level.
