I've got a '16 Silverado 1500 V6 and I get 23-24 mpg on the way to the track all day long (speeding as Im usually late). My best 50 miles was even at 29.8 mpg on the way home from the airport one night! Its a Double Cab, Standard Bed 4WD and has all the room you need. I don't get the want for all these tacomas getting worse mpgs.

I've only towed around 2500-3000lbs and it didnt phase the truck much, just liked to downshift sometimes on hills. I had a friend with the same truck tow an offshore boat from Wisconsin to Michigan and he made it LOL. I know it was pushing the tow rating of it

They're pricey, but hold their value much better than any other truck. Something to keep in mind. I could actually make money if I sold my truck right now. It's weird.

I have a 16' Tacoma and with nothing in it I get 17ish on a good day. Either you drive like a grandma or the manual transmission makes a big difference. I do feel like I'm a gear low a lot of the time.

The JBL stereo and all the fancy electronic were mind numbing. It was a real bummer going back to my 16yo Tundra, but there's just no way in hell I could justify the payment on one of those.

They're a hair on the small side, and the new tundra's are HUGE.. my Firt gen Tundra is the perfect size for me. I wish I had the D.C. cab, but she's been a solid performer for the last 15 years and drives the same as the day I brought it home.


Love my 06 D.C. tundra 4.7 v8 I get about 15 mpg on the freeway with 33 11.50s and bike in back or pulling my little trailer 200k and hardly put any money into it

The GM trucks are rated to over 7000lbs if I'm not mistaken so the typical 6x12ish sized enclosed trailer and couple bikes/gear that the average joe usually has should only be about half of that at best. If it's a large enough trailer though then you will likely exceed the capacity and be better off with the V8 1/2 ton or step up to a 3/4 ton.

Just upgraded my Moto truck. Was wanting a ram 2500 diesel or f250 diesel, all the ones I like were $40k. Went with a ram 1500 eco diese for 27k OTD. Put over 1200 miles on it this weekend and got 28mpg!

First domestic vehicle I have bought as a primary vehicle in a long time. It uses as much gas as a bigger one, but is easier to drive and park. I owe more on it than our house. Duh. Hey, little reward for pulling over 30 years in an cubic-hole.

Surprised not seeing more recommendations for Toyota Tundras here?

From a reliability standpoint they are head and shoulders above other pickups and considering the increased payload their mpg rating is pretty good compared to the smaller Tacoma.

I bought a 2015 Tundra and was very disappointed in the fit and finish compared to my 03,08 and 10 Tundra. At 42,000 I already had rust spots. Plus Tundra’s fuel mileage is garbage in either V8 they offer.

I recently bought a 2017 F150 with the 2.7 Ecoboost and so far so good. Daily driving I average 23-24 mpg and loaded with bike shit 19-22 mpg. Plus it’s a rocket ship in sport mode.

2009 long bed Duramax, 27mpg Hwy with the lift and tires. 690hp, 983ft/lbs of torque. Always gets the job done, lots of room for activities in the back.

What kind of gas mileage are you getting? I just bought a 4 cyl base model and I'm averaging between 27 and 28mpg per tank. I was hoping for more but I can't really complain.

Mt 2000 Tundra work truck turned 300,000 miles last summer, it's at about 312K now. Had a timing belt at 130 and 280K miles just because. Besides that it's had 2 or 3 sensors replaced, a couple sets of brake pads and that's it.

My 97 Ram 2500 with the 12 valve Cummins gets the job done every time. Just turned 130,000 miles. Had the throttle cable break once in my driveway, but that’s it for issues. I will never not own a long bed truck, unless I get a toy hauler next. But even then, the convenience of a long bed is hard to pass up. Three bikes and a generator, gas cans, tools, large cooler, etc. with the tailgate up.

I've loved both of my Ford Raptors as moto trucks. They ride awesome and have great interiors and features and tons of room with the crew cab. Both had great HP and TQ numbers of power and will pull my 24' trailer effortlessly. My 17 Raptor tuned isn't truck fast it's car fast and will stomp my 12 Raptor. It's has right around 550hp and 600tq.

They may be fetching that much across the pond, dealers here can't keep them in stock and I know two friends personally who have paid a premium well over MSRP because they just had to have it and were willing (read: dumbasses)

Very nice Digger I have owned 3 Raptors last one Roush 600hp could not pull the trigger on 6 cylinder needed V8 power
