Hmm, I (and many others) must be off on the team then. I was referring to Ryan. At least I hope I am wrong about the team and he still has the gig!

I have my own trucking company, so it probably wouldn't pay me enough to do it.
How much do the truck drivers make in this sport?

About an hour or two after the Anaheim 2 race, after all the commotion, we were sitting at the truck cooking dogs and wings and this bum was riding around a bike picking up cans. He had to have 4-5 full bags hanging off the bike. I figured I'd wave him over, give him our cans, a bite to eat, and spot him a $50 and find out what life events this guys has been through. All the while thinking this dude lives in the Santa Ana riverbed tent city, I wave him over and start a one sided chat, me listening, about the amount of waste in the lot and the money left behind. Then I realize something, this dude has a "certain team" pit shirt on under his vest. Dude was the truck driver I think and he said he did this every weekend for the extra cash he needed. Dude was cool, but man seems like a tough gig if you live and work in a truck but still need extra cash a few can's bring.
When I was a kid - we used to collect the beer bottles at the local races. My buddy and I would easily pull in $150 a weekend doing it. It was simple work, and we were 14. Worth it then!

If someone knows what team, why don't they just say it (write it)? Not every fan of this sport can pay attention to every rumor, hint, secret handshake, blah blah blah.

If we want the sport to grow, let's start letting it. Can't believe moderators egg this kind of attitude on.

I was assuming Ride365. I agree. Not sure why it's a big secret to know a team has a job opening. If I was the manager, I'd want everyone to know. Then you will have a more competitive process and get the best of the best.

Something fishy going on. Maybe the dude is fired and doesn't know it yet. Doesn't bring much confidence to potential new drivers...

Reading between the lines, this is how it appears to me. Soft mention, without naming in the beginning, sounds like someone knew it was coming but wanted to start generating interest. Then, when it was OK to put the team name out there, I would imagine that meant that the other person (driver?) had then been informed.

Right? Wasn't trying to stir the pot, I honestly was confused. I get it if things didn't work out but saying he doesn't know who I'm talking about makes you start to wonder

What is that tractor and fully-outfitted trailer worth? I'm not looking for guesstimates- does anyone know from first-hand experience what these rigs cost?

Depending on the spec of the tractor, $80,000-$120,000 new and a freshly specced Featherlite trailer would run around $500,000...but I've heard figures into the $700,000 plus range for very specific build-outs (I know, you said no guessimates).

The truck and trailer that RCH used for their hospitality area the past few years (very nice setup, full race worthy) is available for lease for probably around the $100,000 mark or a full year. Less if you didn't need it the whole year.

$185,000 for an '04 Volvo with a 2000 53' Featherlite...comes with awning rigging but it has a slideout facing toward the awning area (right side of the trailer) which isn't very ideal.
Is that the 'vitalmx' future race team setup?
