Seems like there is one dummy posting under multiple names in this thread. And I think he needs to hit up RedTube for some release.....Lots of built up tension

A lot of stadiums have a reentry deadline for their events, this is just not a Supercross thing. I do think it is more of a security thing than anything so the gates can be locked down at some point. Sucks this guy did not see or hear about the reentry rules.

Man, you're the dick here. That "someone" probably needs that "$8 an hour job." I would hire a person who follows the rules and does his job over some ass hole of a bully like you any day.
Eight dollars? Try and keep up fellas.

And Jan. 1st the State of California now is $11.00.

is it just me or has vital taken a turn for the worse?????? Seems most threads end up like this.

Ok i guess somebody will now call me a &&@$.

Rules are rules, but there are always exceptions to the rules and the gate keeper is not the one to negotiate with.

Go buy new tickets and then hope that you can sort it out Monday and get reimbursed.
2/5/2017 8:42am
Should have started a go fund me page to pay for the new tickets.

I bet he had to have gotten in since he stopped responding.

But......I also commented to the guy that was trying to get in that I could try and help. Call me a sentimentalist but the 3 year old first time supercross thing was enough to hear. I swear that I could have bullshitted him back in either through guest services, security, my buddies that made it to the night program, or whatever bullshit resources that I could figure out. It's easier from the inside to work the magic than trying to get in under a strict no re-entry policy. I just didn't get a message or contacted by the op so I couldn't help.

Respectfully to the op......you tried everything? Everything except relying on your friends inside the building.

Same thing happened to us in San Diego 2011 and it was the last supercross we attended. Finally had it with the poorly run circus that obviously doesn't give a damn about the fan which is the ultimate customer.

Yea, those dam rules. If I was gonna spend $$ and travel I would research, plan prior to me leaving. Common sense.

When rules are arbitrary and stupid should we still follow them? Why can't we say, "the rules aren't working to provide a good user experience" and change the rules? It's especially hard when rules are different from venue to venue and enforced differently too. I hope the dude and his s son were able to watch the race.

Such a bummer, I also quit attending SX a few years back and would attend 3+ With the family as I'm in Ca. I love shooting photos as a hobbie and would always attend and show up early and spend the day shooting but went through all the bullshit "can't bring that camera in" after I'd checked with the stadium several days earlier in person, then the outrageous parking fees. Looked like the stadium was empty. Wonder why??

To use "reductio ad absurdum" the nazis were just following rules.

This thread would not exist if the gate person would have called his/her manager and they made an exception and let the little boy and his dad back in.

There are always exceptions and exclusions to rules and an exception should have been made.

If you leave, why can't you come back in if the pits are still open? It's a dumb rule. Common sense should overrule all these ticky tacky rules that diminish the fan experience. Absolutely no one gets hurt by being let back into the pits during public pit access. So why have this rule in place? What is being served by it? That's right. Nothing.

Oh he didn't know and obey the rules so he's an idiot ? You guys are the idots. The fact that one or more security guards couldn't see that this guy was obviously no security risk, not a terrorists, not a drunken asshole, he's just some father with his son who made a mistake, but yet "The rules are the rules" so you can't come back in. What a load of shit. All you guys talking shit on him make sure you obey EVERY FUCKING LAW AND REGULATION every day. What a bunch of fucking sheep.

Fine. Let them call management then. Just so long as someone makes that discretionary decision. The goal is to provide a fan experience, not teach some dude and his kid a lesson on following rules that are, at times, arbitrarily enforced.

I worked customer service for 5 years while in college, and one thing I had to learn from my manager was to put my ego away and keep my eye on the goal of keeping customers happy. I wanted to fight every customer on every demand they made, because a lot of time it was their own "fault", so to speak. That attitude didn't last long, nor should it have. This is fan driven Supercross racing, not some strict bureaucratic process. A simple refresher on the posted signs accompanied with a pass back into the stadium would have gone a lot further than telling the guy to hit the road.

Few years back at Atlanta we were going in the dome and the guy said no backpacks. We walked away ,I take off my hoodie, put on the backpack then the hoodie over it. Go right back to same guy with huge lump on my back,he scans the tickets and we stroll in.

Exactly. Maybe just maybe a hint of common sense, maybe. Oh nevermind. And I have no idea what infowars.com is. Grinning

I agree with you Justin. The only problem is, once you allow a slight gray area or leave the door open a hair, it will get kicked wide open (especially in today's age). This situation was obviously sincere, but the bigger picture is if you keep everything black and white, there is nothing to question. While it totally sucks, I don't blame security and the stadium for sticking to a clear rule.

BTW, as a father of two boys under 10, I would never take a 3 year old to a SX. My hat is off to the OP for giving it a shot and I hope your son is bananas about MX. Mine would have loved the first 30 mins, the rest of the time would have had me miserable with them telling me they are bored. About 7 years old they start to get to the age of being able to sit through an enjoy something like that.

I agree with the 2nd part completely. I only partially agree with the first part. I don't fall in line with the "domino effect" line of thinking. I'm sure had this guy got admitted back in, anarchy would not have ensued. I see your point, and like I said, I partially agree.
