I saw wood and chunks of rock in the track tonight. It sure looks like they dropped the ball with the dirt contents today. Track prep was awesome all day and they prepped a great track, but what the heck was up with all the debris? Hill and Grant both crashed because of that crap.

Could of been the plywood that the dirt lays on. That's what I thought it was where Hill and Plessinger crashed. It happens, with soft dirt especially

Plesinger hit the same piece of wood in that right hander too. Emig mentioned maybe a rock there. Then boom Hill gets it too.

You never had to race with bricks, lumps of concrete and other building rubble in the track then?

How in the world does wood get in the rut like that? I could see if there were a rock in there, but wood? That is just carelessness on the part of somebody. I think once the wood is covered with dirt, there should not be anymore pieces of wood floating around unless somehow it was hauled in with the dirt and it worked its way up like a rock would.

Why aren't these tracks outside, like on a few acres land, where feld wouldn't need to put wood and debris in as filler? /s

Wow that's shitty what happened to Grant wasn't aware of that. Looks like a bunch of shit mixed in with the dirt. Sport is dangerous enough, I wouldn't want roosted by a 450 with concrete either!!

The dirt is supplied by the venue. They can only work with the tools they're given.

Hmmm...As far as I'm aware, it's up to Feld to get a dirt supplier for the Supercross and Monster Jam venues. Including storing the dirt if it's a venue that will be reused the following year, and the costs of moving it in and out.

I honestly think Hill hit his front brake on the tough block. Slow motion he hits that, the forks compress and the front wheel locks up. Not saying there wasn't debris around the track..

I think with all the money Feld makes on these Supercross races they could at least buy good quality dirt and sand to make the tracks safer. They also need to bring in a lot more dirt into the stadium so the track does not break down so fast. Feld just cares about the money they make, hell look at how much the purse money is for the riders, that is a joke. It is amazing they get away with paying riders so little. No riders, no show. The riders need to do something, this has been going on forever in our sport.

If the picture above is legit, that is a 4" cap block, right?

With the hill replay you could clearly see his front wheel bounce a little then his back wheel hits the same spot and flys out of the rut and the piece of wood is clearly seen laying across the rut right after his crash

The dirt is owned by the promoters already and stored somewhere else,so who knows if something was dumped there and just loaded up with the good stuff,i haul alot of dirt and all that stuff in grants pic did not come through a quarry had to come from a different dump site, before dirt is hauled from the quarry it is ran through several different sized screens

Yea I think they killed it. Great job with the track fellas! You guys are fuckin lame. They build the whole track in two days and covered. The guys were pulling plastic before the sun came up Saturday. We got to watch awesome racing last night. Right now there's definitely emails going around at feld about this chunk of plywood between people that where dress shoes and don't get dirty. Idgaf it was great racing, if you see something in your line maybe you should move to another one.

Looks like half a ton of busted up concrete with a lil rebar for safety.

Hill's front tire went over the debris with little impact, it was his rear tire that hit the debris and then the rear tire stepped out of the rut and what you see is the end result.

You need to take a closer look, once his back tire hit the wood it bucked up and out of the rut.

All the manly men who are so dismissive of the shit dirt crack me up. I'm a professional earth mover, I couldn't put debris like that in any fill area, and that's for shit that will never even see the light of day, much less a supercross track. Screening is a simple process and Feld or DW is 100% to blame for a substandard riding surface.

I still think the debris in the dirt is unacceptable.

Having said that, what these guys (DW) have been able to do these past few weeks, considering the rain, is mightily impressive.
