That hurts! Nice bike, you restore it? I know I"ll find one, they are out there, my dad used to say" there's an ass for every seat" coming to the conclusion, if you want one bad enough, you have to act quick & make the drive, however far it is. Sure as shit if I drive 8 hrs for one, a week later one will pop up 30 mins from me!
Too funny! My dad always says, "There's an ass for every seat" too! Hahaha! That's awesome.

Finders fee for a clean example, preferably 91 or 92.

I have a very clean 1992 model. Still has a really good OEM seat, which is near impossible to find. The rest of the bike is mostly all stock aside from some small things like grips, etc. PM me if still interested and I can send pics.
Mxnick was not kidding with his post! Thanks Mxnick, you are a stand up guy! Pleasure doing business.

originally did not think it was feasible to buy a bike have it shipped across the country but the seller was straight up & we made it happen. I have driven 3&4 hrs to look at bikes that were quoted as being " very good condition" on,y to find that the bikes were garbage. This bike was basically delivered to my door & is in better condition than any bike I have been able to find in the Northeast, let alone the very fair selling price. I look forward to the teardown/ refresh. Should be a lot easier than what I"m used to...

Your bike is nice! Ride report? I have the mxa shootout from 92, they said suspension was grim! I have been looking for a PC works pipe, hard to find, so I just bought a new PC platinum pipe & silencer, maybe I"ll Rock the Crome disco pipe on this bike!

The seller actually had bought Oem rear fender decals & has mailed them out to me...I"ll skip the side plate decals for some numbers! I actually like the look of the 89&90 much better but think I will keep this bike original looking, kind of looks cool in person...I"ll likely use Evo-MX for the rad decals...

Thanks! Your bike is amazing too! Congrats!

Ride report? Hmmm... short powerband, soft suspension, cornering is ok, but I think a better front tire will help that. I didn't push it that much.

My bike has a 50t rear sprocket. I bought a 49t to try next. I think that will help broaden the power. I would like to stiffen the springs too. I'm 180 lbs. I assume the springs are stock. Shifting under power was a bit sketchy. I missed a couple shifts. Also, the dipped seat is hard to move around on. I might try a tall seat eventually.

Here's a video of me cruising around MMX track in California. I suggest skipping ahead to 4:00 or so.

That's pretty much what mxa said. The missed shifts under a load.......that's a Suzuki thing....it will be a while before I ride mine. Performed teardown, wheel, steering, swingarm bearings all shot, looks like it was never greased, but mostly just a bike that has been sitting. I"m going to build it from the frame up...

I'm a sucker for punishment

Some new parts... Oem Suzuki front fender, 24.00$..ufo rear more cost effective than stock & the fit & finish on the ufo is top shelf... pulled the trigger on the pro circuit pipe & silencer...soda blasted the engine, was stained with orange dirt, but the soda blaster cleans it up perfect! Still have to soda a bunch of other parts.

The original swingarm has a decent size dent on the side, and needed new bearings, found eBay arm really cheap, not perfect but much better that what I had & the bearings are very clean...

Soda blaster cleans up the orange dirt stains on the bare mag & aluminum like new. I could easily just do a quick makeover but ocd kicking in. The frame is in really good condition, no dents or cracks, but the seat bolt threads are stripped. I will have my welder replace the seat thread nuts, chase engine mount welds & I will make a weld on skid plate like I did for my 89 KX. I"ve come to the conclusion that I enjoy building these bikes just as much as riding them..

A few pix of my '92 RM250.... Wish I still had it, like a lot of other bikes I have had and sold!
I have a set of OEM style aftermarket Rad Shroud graphics that I never used, went with the Ceet/FMF look. I also have an Applied Triple Clamp Top Clamp w/ bar mounts that I was going to install but sold the bike before I was able to install them. Still in the box. Contact me if anyone is interested at hudweiser9@gmail.com

Did a little soda blasting today.. Calipers & fork lugs cleaned up nice...went on Race Tech site for spring rate info, turns out a stock 96 cr 250 spring is the correct 5.6 kg spring that Race a Tech calls for. Stock rate is 5.2. I just happened to have a stock 96 cr 250 shock spring in my loft! Spring will be powdercoated with frame.

Yes, I have the blue Harbor freight blaster as well, the more I use it the better I get with it. Yes, it"s a pita...I use mine at my brothers workshop located in an industrial zone, I set everything I"m blasting on an portable table outside the garage, wear a hat, resperator & MX googles. Filling the blaster is the most time consuming, I get everything ready as I pour the soda into a funnel that fills in the tank. I dont try to reuse the soda after blasting, the suction tube gets clogged easily. If you have all your parts setup & ready to go, once you connect air & open the valves you have 15-20 minutes of blasting b4 the tank is empty again, If the blaster becomes clogged just pick up the tank & give it a smack against the ground. The Rm I"m working on has a stained orange dirt on it, pressure washing did not remove it at all, the soda is perfect, completely removes the orange stains without damaging any coatings so I donot have to have things replated or painted afterwards. All blasting sucks! I come home & jump right in my pool! I would have spent hrs cleaning those brake assemblies by hand, 5 mins with soda blast, then blow out with clean air & just relube sliders & bleed when back on bike. Here is phos of wheels b4 & after

Frame sandblasted & back from the welder. Had to put engine back in to line up oil drain bolt hole in welded on skid plate, put a few more holes in the plate for the factory look...also had engine mounts & lower cradle welds redone. 3rd photo shows Suzuki"s attempt to gusset the steer head area......pretty crude looking for a factory weld! I bet a 10 yr old Chinese girl could weld better than that today!
Welded new seat bolt nuts.... I like when all the bolts are the correct sizes!

Hate to buy from china, but footpeg choice is limited

Pegs fit good....off to powdercoater....still looking for some decent 95 forks, be nice to find some 95 forks that have been revalved & have stiffer springs already. The original forks are very clean, Have some signs of caps being taken off at some point.....judging by the damage to the caps. I will disassemble the original forks to see if springs have been changed...I may just run the stock forks

Well I have 1995 forks on mine with RT Gold Valves and stiffer springs....but I'm not selling it at this point sorry!

Raced it at Unadilla 2015 and also Sleepy Hollow 2-Stroke Shootout but never could feel comfortable on it. Ended up buying a 1998 RM for the better ergos and putting the 1992 up on the rack to look at since they both end up in the same race class.

Nice! Sounds good in the video...I"m watching some 95 forks on eBay right now, they are out there. Did you do anything to the rear shock? Race tech"s site stated it needed a much stiffer spring...5.6 I believe.

Yeah I got a stiffer spring and gold valves in the shock too.

The pipe and silencer on there, believe it or not I paid less than $50 shipped to my house for that whole exhaust package! Pro Circuit pipe and silencer, the pipe has one big dent in the side (you can see it on the video) like someone had it on a bike and it fell over. No other dings, nothing. I can't remember how I found that on Ebay but I snatched it up right away. Just never got around to blowing the dent out.

Oh, something else that was a good add-on was I put a clutch perch assembly from modern KX250f/450f. They are cheap new and you can find new take-offs on Ebay. I can't remember why but it didn't swap over to my 98...... but works nice on the '92.

Picked up some very nice 95 twin chamber forks....100.00 free shipping! Ez swap, everything from the 92 fits right on. Have not made it down to powdercoater yet with the frame, debating getting weld on case guard.......plugging away at this bike slowly.....
