Maybe motocross really is 90% rider like the myth says....

I have a pretty faint memory of someone destroying the field on an "outdated" Suzuki a year or so ago? Could anyone refresh my memory?

I think you have missed the point, previous new versions (2009 and 2013 come to mind) of the CRF have caused the top riders lots of problems setting them up, this one is a goodie. Like it or not they are good bikes.

True, but Seely is running well, and there are no glaring problems like some suspected there may be. Brayton, who know whats going on over there, i expected better with his recent accomplishments in Australia.

Seely is a young dude who just got a huge Honda contract... Aka has a ton of confidence behind him

Brayton is a veteran rider on a B level team with teammates who are known for shinanigans

Confidence is a much bigger factor in MX than a bike. Just look at Barcia in 2015 MX... Dungey in 2016 SX.... Febvre in 2015 des Nations and MXGP. Confidence allowed them to force their way to tge front... Not just which bike was better.

That's not the case at all.

Tedesco won Colorado 09 and HATED that bike....

In fact all of the Honda guys on that bike have said they had trouble setting it up at first, except Shorty.

It didn't look sorted till late 2010 outdoors with KW, Metty and Shorty...

To have confidence means you have confidence in your training, in your diet, in your mental approach and in your bike.... clearly the bikes are not giving the riders any issues, right from the get go...remember MEC?

Maybe, the point is the updated chassis and engine package has given them the tools to fight with the "best" bike out there ( ktm/husky).

Tedesco won Colorado 09 and HATED that bike....

In fact all of the Honda guys on that bike have said they had trouble setting it up at first, except Shorty.

And Tedesco's win was dominant which was weird with how bad he disliked the bike

I just cant see the bike being as much of a factor as its made out to be. The human riding it is the limiting factor. Same with any bike out there right now.

Im sure if you spend enough time and programed a robot to ride Kennys CRF around a track, it could do it in half the time if any human. So i just have never bought the "bike setup" excuse. Technically a 2008 RMZ 450 just waxed the field in MX last year so Im pretty confident in my theory.

It's not for joe you and joe me.

For these guys, the setup is about comfort to push the edge.

They're all super fast and super consistent so It's just maths. If they're comfortable and can push an extra 10th, well that's 2.4 seconds over that race.... A half second a lap doesn't sound like much but over 24 laps you'd have been 12seconds back.

05 was good out of the crate as well! But I agree, this one appears to be pretty awesome based on these early performances.

Even if it's not the bike.....the optics of what Roczen is doing is huge for its success. Even tho he is doing now what he did last year and it doesn't seem to have brought Seely to second place!

I think Jeff's assessment last night about Roczen going through the whoops flat was the sign for me cuz I saw the stabilitybwith my own eyes. Roczen was barely moving up and down through the whoops. The bike was just eating them up. Competition is a good thing so I'm glad Honda got it right!

Agree, I looked at Roc going through the whoops and thought....I could probably make it through on that bike, well, maybe 3 or 4 to be truthful, lol. I think Honda got it right this year and they'll make refinements for year's to come. Game on for Honda.
