Disappointed Ralph or Emig didn't say anything about RC's bald spot on the back of his head. Look like someone hit him with the clippers haha. Surprise would be pourcel and Hansen not in the main. As far as canard taking a spot and not racing idk what's up because last year when I was wrenching for a friend they would always have alternates come to staging incase someone didn't race
Would think KTM would give Rockstar Husky a hint that Canard would pull out of the gate.

250 surprise- McElrath riding the whole race that strong. I've just never thought he'd put it together like that and I'm happy for him that he did. This could be a big breakthrough that leads to many more wins!
Disappointment- I thought JMart would walk away with it. You could put Hansen in there I suppose, but his results didn't really disappoint or surprise me......

450 Surprise-Webb showed maturity and rode to finish! I do believe he'll be a player this season if he rides within himself and will finish top 5 overall if he doesn't crash himself out. Good night for him I think.
Disappointment-Clearly Tomac's slide backwards. He's the guy most likely to match Roczen in speed, and he gets to second and tosses the anchor out. Tomac doesn't have Dungey's track record of consistency, so laying up may not be a solid strategy for him.

Other disappointments obviously include Pourcel, Canard, etc. But one of my biggest disappointments is why some decent team doesn't swing some really good support and equipment to a guy who has now made 17 straight mains? Can Nick Schmidt do nothing to get a good, paid ride? His name will get mentioned every single week, obviously, and the privateer to supported ride storyline would probably warrant it's own "human interest" piece during an intermission!

Pourcel. If Canard wasn't going to race the main why take a LCQ spot?

Reed. Dizzy

Webb. Welcome to the big leagues.

Remember when Pourcel was in love with Canard and hated Dungey?

He may not love Canard as much as he did before.......

Then again, Pourcel may have already drawn his bubble bath and decided stay in......

I think that RC might have had another skin thing cut out....

Peick gained 30 lbs? Don't think so. He's always been the biggest dude out there.

Freise did stop Peick and thanked him for not punting him over the berm in the last corner of their semi.

He should put his purse back in the team rig and earn that spot

Surprised= Chase Marquier.

Probably took some of the sting out of his Sprinter which gave up the ghost in Flagstaff. Left him stranded for a while.

Either CP was already on a flight or the AMA are a bunch of 'tards.

OR BOTH!

Biggest surprise- McElrath
Biggest Disappointment- the realisation that this season will be the same as last (Roczen and Dungey on another level)

Canard still gets a point for qualifying right? I wouldn't give that away to another rider who didn't qualify.

Webb and Reed... factory bikes and no speed. Webb seems just too small for big bike.. maybe KTM or Honda would do better for him in future.

Better throw Musquin in there, he was pretty solid! I think ET must of had a problem, to fade like an earl scheib paint job. I bet he has a better race next week.

I didn't expect any miracles from Webb but his riding was disappointing. He looked incredibly stiff on the bike the few times they showed him.

Do you feel the KTM suits smaller riders?

I think he crashed in the opening laps and was pretty much last at one point? I might be wrong though.

Weimer rode better than he has for a long time, so that was cool. And BB was good but not really a surprise.
Reeds DNF and CP's piss poor performance were lows
McElrath riding a strong fast race in 250's was good to see but not a long way from where he was last year, just polished and probably fitter.
Martin with a bad start in final was a bummer

The only thing that happened that I wouldn't have predicted was tomAc

Yeah I was surprised at Tomac dropping back. I realise that these things always sound ridiculously judgemental - of course all of those guys are amazingly fast even on their worst days. But yeah, with that out the way, I don't think anyone wasn't disappointed to see one of the biggest hitters fall out of contention like that (assuming it wasn't a bike or health issue, which is possible). He looked so damn good in his heat race, just completely at one with the bike. But then for some reason he often struggles when it really counts. Be better of course to reverse things with a fairly non-committal, sleepy heat race, but then unleash the real Eli Tomac in the main. Edit: Ah. I see it says on Racerx that it was severe arm pump for Eli. No wonder he dropped back.

Surprise - Not really that surprising but just how good Kenny looked. When he's on form like that.. wow! Definitely one of those riders that makes you want to go riding when you watch him ride. He just does everything right on the bike with no drama, making it it look so easy. At least last night.

Tomacs shoulders and bike still not being 100%..

Dungey was honestly the biggest surprise for me. Made light work of his teammates. I'm still not used to aggressive dunge.

Surprise: Roczen win by 16 seconds. Expected him to win but not by that big of a margin.

Disappointment: Pourcel not making the main.

PEOPLEEEEE give Webb a chance hahaha. It's his first race and we're making it out like he pulled a Barcia getting paid millions and hasn't done anything for them. First race top 10 isn't bad. He will improve

Biggest surprise - Kenny winning by 16 seconds

Disappointment - how easy and boring that track was
