How is that any different than the situation James is in now compared to Chad then? Actually, James is older now than Chad was then so he went further than Chad before everybody gave up on him. Your point is pointless.

Most gave up on him after 2014. I drug it out til 2016. Chad's situation is different at this point because Chad acted on his unableness to get a ride. He created a team, looked really good and got a ride. James has yet to do ANY of that. You're ASSUMING he does the same. There's a small chance James does his own thing, looks great while doing it and gets picked up by a factory team. But it has yet to happen so how you compare the two actually is very pointless (and stupid.)

You responded to ME saying the situation wasn't different. I explained to you how they are clearly very different as one acted on his misfortune while the other has not and is just talking about acting. And no, James is not and will not ever be a failure. He's a champion, one of the fastest ever on a dirt bike. If he comes back and takes 18th but stays healthy and has fun you won't hear a peep from me. If he decides to retire, that's cool too. He deserves to be able to retire. If he continues to post these dumb cryptic messages and nothing ever happens, I'll continue to pass judgement.

James is a joke, he pretty much shot himself in the foot with last years shenanigans. Dude should just retire.
No you're the fucking joke! Dude has done so much for this sport & that's the fucking respect you give him?

I commend JS7 for making this announcement on his on and not through Racer x, Transworld MX or any other so called in the know industry insiders outlet.Hell no one even knows what bike he is riding for sure..I was reading right here on vital MX that someone posted for sure James was retiring and the announcement was going to be made at A1! Lol keeping it real no on vital sits on on contract negotiations with these guys and do you really think that James Dean Malcolm or Reed would sit up and tell what gets accepted and what they will not accept during negotiations?? NOT! And who knows what Malcolm was offered obviously the so called insiders didn't see this coming and that's great it was I'm sure for those that needed to know!

Yep, A tweet from the couch with no info. Sounds legit.

True. Don't know why people hate constantly...we talk about wanting the sport to grow but people don't realize we need the Stewart's to help it grow.

Fair enough, but I responded to you because you are always going out of you way to dog him. You clearly hold a grudge. Instead of just appreciating what he's done, you act like he owes you something, and will continue to pass judgement until he satisfies your desire. Like that even matters. To each their own. I just simply can not comprehend why you and others feel this way. Maybe an ignorant fan, but I don't see how any diehard eat, sleep, breathe, moto guy could possibly feel this way.

C'mon James. You know your ability to, at this late point in your career, catch lighting in a bottle is very remote. Over the last few seasons, even when things did go just right, you couldn't seal the deal. Yes, you're one of the most crazily skilled riders EVER on bike, but you know it's over. I think you have concussion syndrome and tip overs knock you out for weeks at a time. I love watching you ride, and believe you could maybe win some heat races, but your time is over. Do the right thing for yourself, your family, and your body, and get out now while you still can. I know 20 year olds will shred me,.....but that's because they're 20-something.

I don't think too many people would care if he did it from the lobby of a Subway restaurant just because he did it on his own terms and didn't do it through vital Racer X trans world or one of the other so-called inmates Insider media Outlets announcement it's legit it's from him

I didn't want to read through all 6 pages, my apologies.......................Is it this year they are starting the 'resetting' the points about half way through the series (like AX does)? I know it was talked about awhile ago.

You used your first and only post to tell James to "get out now while you still can"? You sound like a real fan of James and the sport.

And I'm a helluva lot older than 20.

And in my opinion that is what has always made James different. As far as I know there is not a publication paying him or sponsoring him. He owes nobody anything but the people that have his back. If I had to guess this is the old motorcycle superstore rig with help from Suzuki city.

I just watched A1 2016 the other day.

No one should have been knocked out as soft a hit as that was. And it wasn't the last hit he's taken to the head or will if he gets back on.

I honestly think he should stay on the bench, dude's a Dad, has nothing to prove, nothing to gain, it all to lose.

Like I said. Go back and watch it. Watch the helmet cam. And watch his head actually hit the ground.

He was out straight away and for a good moment.

Now put that in the context of someone who has had multiple impacts similar to that... And ask yourself if seeing him do a few more laps and another head hit us really worth it.

There is no way to actually measuring the force or energy of that hit from your DVR......

jk--My opinion that James hang it up kills you? Really? First off.... it's not like I could stop him from racing. It's just my take. I've been around moto for over 40 years. I was at Saddleback and Carlsbad during the glory days. I was at Anaheim when Johnson and Bailey duked it out. I've seen DeCoster race. I've been to over 150 professional races and to probably over 1000 in total. I was acquainted with many pros and amateurs alike that have had to spend the rest of their LIVES compromised from bad crashes. I literally had a young man DIE on the track right in front of me from a crash. His family will NEVER be the same. I don't write this to act like my shit doesn't stink, but there's a lot of life left after moto for all of these gladiator bad asses. I was at Vegas in '03 when James ate his lunch on a 125. I was also at Anaheim in '14 when he crashed his brains out. I can tell you that at this point he doesn't have anything to prove-that's a given. He's taken a heck of beating in the many, many years that he's raced. I just don't want to see him get fried. All I'm giving is MY opinion. It's based on risk vs. reward. He CAN'T win anymore and to push it to the level necessary to be competitive is really risky. Going through life eating jello through a straw as you watch your kids grow up is no way to live. Lastly, IF he does come back and race, nobody will be happier for him if he wins ....your mileage may vary.

Of course no one wants to see anybody hurt. The fact is only James knows if it's something he really wants and if it is, I say go for it. If he actually wanted it bad enough that he would be unhappy if he didn't than what kinda life would that be. But like I said only James really knows

But like I said only James really knows
jk--I know I'm beating this like a dead horse, but James is in the eye of the storm. When you're in the eye, you don't really see everything quite so clearly. I'm suggesting that James' JUDGMENT is flawed. You write that only James knows if he wants it.... Heck, EVERYBODY wants it--probably those that HAVE won in the past (especially as much as James) want it even MORE. The thing is....(at least what I'm thinking)..... Pros that are still relatively young but HAVE had some deterioration of their skills THINK that they still possess the gunfighter like reflexes and athleticism that made them great. James unquestionably for a long while was the quickest draw in all the land, but now, other than collecting a paycheck, what can he do? He truly can't hang for 20 laps. My worry would be that he gets a great holeshot while the other top guns have mediocre starts. Then as the laps wind down, the top guns catch him. Then with the pressure to win, mounting, James overcooks it and crashes really bad. I think we've all seen that kind of ride from him. He's an emotional, hard-charging, competitive guy. jk--Think about how hard it is for NFL guys to hang it up. They HATE it, but have to. I just think he's given it his all. I hope he's saved his money. I'm out. Anaheim 1 is calling.

He was out straight away and for a good moment.

Now put that in the context of someone who has had multiple impacts similar to that... And ask yourself if seeing him do a few more laps and another head hit us really worth it.
Some of these SX and AX tracks can literally be like pavement-- that is a factor. I say that having been knocked out cold in a very similar low speed wreck (Baltimore AX). It's the slapdown that is brutal.

This right here...there isn't one shred of evidence that he has been preparing for 2017 Supercross. Guess what, the 20 guys that made the main last night have been busting their asses since the last gate drop last year. How does he expect to be even remotely competitive if he hasn't been trying HARD? I guess what I don't understand is, what does expect to prove? That he can still qualify? IMO he'll be lucky to be a consistent top ten guy? Will that make a past SUPERSTAR/CHAMP happy? Regardless I do enjoy watching him ride and seeing the INSANE things he does on a bike, but I'd much rather see him be REAL about what he expects. He will not win a race this year. Most likely never again. If he podiums again I would be surprised. James please make yourself HAPPY, because in all actuality not one single opinion of OURS matters.
