James Stewart Jr. gave so many thousands of people a moment to forget about their problems and have the sole focus on his drive to the front.
James Stewart Jr. helped break the color barrier in this sport, that was a great thing and very needed at the time.
If anyone see's James tell him a big thank you from me, I never forgot, why have so many others?
These racers can't race forever, James gave the sport so much, his issues are forgettable for me because he gave so much of himself to the sport.
If you look at pure speed then you know James was the bench mark.
Simple explanation: an ex pro that retired!

Seriously dude, stfu. You yourself said who cares what people think, so don't effing worry about what I think
"Big James and Sonya loved each other very much, so they gave each other a special type of hug. Then little James came out of her belly."
James could do things that would boggle the mind, from the rise of the Bubba Scrub to the Daytona Wall Jump. He also frequently crashed as a result of overconfidence and bad decision making.
Those saying he hasn't been relevant since 2009 seem to forget the season he had in 2014. I watched Toronto live. Admittedly Villopoto was sick, very sick, but James made the entire field look like B class riders at that race. It was insane how he had 3 sections where he had his own lines nobody else was hitting.
The worlds most talented rider finally ran out of talent.
I'm a Chiefs fan so I hate the guy. He's always talked about as one of the greatest, but very few would put him as THE greatest. His stats, while great, aren't super eye popping when you take a closer look at them. Stewart's wins are eye popping, much like Elway's Super Bowl appearances. Neither one of them, for one reason or another, could really sustain excellent seasons consistently. However, if you were to tell me that every single rider in history is going to line up for one race and they're all going to ride perfect, I'd pick Stewart over anyone in history. Similarly, if you were to tell me every QB in NFL history is going to play one perfect game and then ask me which one I want, I'm taking Elway over anyone else in history. Now if you ask me who I want in an entire SX, MX, or NFL season or an entire SX, MX, or NFL career, then those answers are completely different.
Pit Row
I'm surprised I haven't heard Wayne Gretzgy, or Jesus mentioned yet.
I think we are misremembering how dominant James was. Dude only has two SX titles and we're comparing him to guys like Jordan...
If James is LeBron, how do you describe Jeremy McGrath?
-Hands down the most talented guy past or present on a supercross track
-Grew up winning so much he probably hated to lose more than anybody ever in the sport. Evidenced by the countless times he would jeopardize championships just to win races. Many people feel he would have racked up more titles if he would dial back the intensity at times to avoid crashing out of races. At one time his ratio for winning when he did not crash was something like 95% or greater.
ESPN did two great segments with him over the years.
