Bearing in mind that dowd was a great mud rider in his own right, and everts destroyed him (and everyone else) that day

It was unbeleivable watching everts ride round that track that day- it was about as unrideable as ive ever seen a track get (ive actually raced there myself in the mud and it was the most difficult race ive ever done- even though it was nowhere near as bad as 98)- stefan made it easy. Stand up/ trials style, just cruising round on the pegs carrying loads of momentum

most d-14 guys used to pray for rain on the drive to LL's back in the day. everyone gone soft lately and park the bikes when the rain/snow flies anymore.

I understand where your coming from, I'm a fan and think he is really good in the mud.
Everts is really good also but we'll never know who is the best mud rider as we haven't seen them go head to head in the mud ! Just saying
