So I have a 2007 KTM and as everyone knows those older year ktms looked terrible how can I make it look good because it seems like even with fresh graphics they still look bad... (I don't have enough $ right now to get a newer better bike)

I change mine up every other year to keep things fresh. Went from stock to all white, to all orange. Next up is black and orange with the 2017 front fender and number plate.

I currently have it apart and am going to get the frame powdered in orange.

Ideally I would just get a new bike as mine is two generations old now but new bikes cost twice as much as my car.

How did you find out the 2017 fender fits on your bike I wonder of any newer plastics will fit on mine

It needs an adapter to change the mounting points for the newer fenders. I have the one made by cycra but there are others out there.

They all look the same from behind the bars you get more props for having a clean bike vs the newest bike.

For sure. My bike (in my profile pic) looks like it's 20 years old, but I get compliments all the time because I keep it clean.

1. Trim the number panels to fit the shape of the bike better, where they angle at 45 degrees, cut straight through and make a line going from air box to rear fender, I've seen this done on suzuki's and yamahas of that year, and it always looks better.

2. Powdercoat the frame (I'm not sure if this is in your budget, but a fresh frame looks killer no matter what)

3. Media blast the cylinder, cases, and any aluminum on the bike. (ie brakes, etc) It will come out looking like new and make you a much happier owner. (I'm assuming all of your cases are stained red, because of Auburn's dirt with Foresthill and Georgetown)

4. What Jimmy Albertson above me said, throw on some 180 Decals from Bryar Perry. He's a really cool guy and always knocks it out of the park.

All totaled, if you were to follow through on my advice, you'd probably be looking at $300-400 in costs, it's up to you whether that is worth it or not.

It's only $400-$500 to have someone take apart my whole bike to get the frame then have it powdercoated? And I also want to make my rims black

Most likely $100-200 to get it powder coated. Take it apart yourself. Clean everything up and put it back together.

Could get some black excels for a decent price and get them laced up to your current hubs.

If you don't have the ability or knowledge to take your bike apart and put it back together then you probably need more than a cosmetic upgrade on it.

Who has been doing the maintenance on it for the last 10 years?
