The skid plate is by P3. I drilled the holes to increase air flow.

I've been getting all the bolts polished on the 125. I came across some super good deals on Ti bolts for the 250f.

So I was really worried about riding different elevations between So Cal and Oregon. I enjoy tuning the bikes but if I make a long drive I want to be able to get on the bike and ride. So I sprung for the Lectron carb!

She's looking like a bad bad girl!

SDG hooked me up with a custom seat with my name and number on it.

I gotta say there's something about the look of a 2 strokeWhistling Whistling Whistling

Looking good. What was the coating you applied to the engine mounts to look like carbon?

It's called hydrographics. It's like a print that's layed on then clear coated over.

I'm a bit confused, in one picture you have a V-Force and the other is the KTM reed cage?

I got that VF3 from BTO and posted that photo before I tried to put it on. But it doesn't fit, So I looked into everything deeper and they don't even make one for this bike. I returned it to BTO and told them about the wrong info on their site.

I'm sure v force will release a new reed cage for your bike soon. Same with boyesen. I'm sure they will have a rad valve for your bike as well soon. Imo rad valve is a lot better then the v force anyways.

What characteristics do each of them have?

I see... Seems weird that there's no cage for the 125/150 since that motor has been out over a year now.

I agree. It's funny because when I looked up the reed threads on KTMtalk, people had mentioned they called V Force this summer and they said, "The parts are on the dyno now getting tested and will be out in a month." That's literally the same answer I got when I called on Monday. So either they are doing TONS of dyno testing or having a hard time.

I just really want to get the screw-less reed cage. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but seems crazy to have those screws and metal plates just sitting so close to the piston

Bikes look so good. I reeeeeally want to try a new ktm/husky 125. I'd love to pair one with new 17 250sx but I might hold onto my Honda 125 for a bit.

I'm a 2stroke guy but I rode the 250f factory edition and loved it as well.

Lookin good Joe. Another great source for Ti & Aluminum fasteners is torontocycles.com, I have used their stuff for years on mostly frame - up Mountain bike builds but also have some of their stuff on my KTM's. Great quality, good pricing with cheap shipping and he will anodize it just about any color you want.
For really hi end Ti bolts I have some Pro-Ti.com bolts which are amazing, but they are pricey.
It will be interesting to see who comes out with a reed cage first, as it seems like alot of 2017 owners are wanting a different reed cage.I will likely try one on my SX 150.

Crazy to see the difference with the 250f wiring harness(top) to the 125 on the bottom of this photo.

I bleed all the brakes and clutch. It was looking nasty in there! I don't even know how that's possible to turn the fluid black with only 30 hours...Dizzy

I installed the Lectron carb and its .5in longer than stock. The airboat just barley touches the spring. Anyone have advice about this? I'm going to email Lectron to see if there's anything they have done to fix this?

The clutch fluid on the 125 will get dirty pretty quickly. With how much you use a clutch on the 125 its not out of the ordinary. I would bleed the the clutch and the rear brake almost daily or every other practice day on the practice bike. Front brake wouldnt be as bad because they don't see the abuse of the rear brake and the clutch, plus it has the most fluid in the system. Make sure you back bleed the front brake atleast a few times. Air bubbles like to get trapped at the top banjo . I got to spend some time on a 125 the last couple months and it was such a blast. So much fun to ride!

So Lectron guys said it's normal about the slight spring rub on the air boot. During the motion of the shock it will go towards the back away from the air boot and up when compressed.

They think I'm going to be a hair lean on their stock jetting, so I'll give the metering rod a 1/2 turn in and run it on Thursday!

Got the Lectron in and tuned to ride this week. I'll give a report once I ride it.

I have to get a spark arrestor to ride Gorman OHV track this week. I'll try it back to back with the shorty to see if there's any difference. The bike came with 3 silencers and 2 pipes, so I have a little arsenal over hereWhistling

I have Ti raptor pegs on the 250f and want something simaler but didn't want to spend that kind of money. I sent the stock pegs out to MetalTek in Lake elsinor CA for a little mod!Evil

My airboot rubs a tiny bit on the shock spring on my 250sx after the lectron. I've had it installed for over a year with no problems. I know I've seen a few other people mention it also but I wouldn't worry about it if I was you. There is no noticeable wear or catching of the spring on mine.

Ok cool, that's good to know. I was wondering about long term wear. But the shock does move up and away so the only time it would touch is during full extension. Excited to try it!

So I got to ride the bike today and man it's super fun. Feels exactly like my 250f handling and feel just with a lighter smaller engine.

I made 2 adjustments to the Lectron, 1/2 turn in on the metering rod and 1/4 out on the power jet. She pulls to the moon! Once you get in the meat of the power it rips. I have no idea why a small kid would go from 80s to 250f.

I also put the power valve at 2 turns in from full out. I might even go 1.75. Felt way smoother delivery than 2.5in. The bike came at 2.5 and it was pretty harsh, maybe once I get used to it more or on a softer track that would work?

Been doing some riding on the 125, I put the shorty on and rode Lake Elsinor, it changed the jetting on the Lectron a good amount. I got it dialed but hopefully won't need to keep making changes from this point.
I'm going to try and run the Powercore to see if it gives more bottom than the shorty.

Here's some more detailed photos of the 250f with rear brake coating and site glass mod.

I would assume the shorty would give you more bottom and the powercore more top.

I thought the shorty would also, but when I went from the Turbine(spark arrestor) to the shorty, I was getting crazy bogging when I would roll in 3rd gear and crank open the throttle. Maybe just a jetting issue rather an silencer?

My power valve is stock spring at 2 turns in from full out.

Hey guys, so after talking with the Lectron guys he suggested I look at the packing on the silencer. So I repacked it, also tried to seal where the silencer and pipe come together and that seemed to cure most the problem. It still bogs if I roll on in too high of a gear, but I think thats just the 125. It's got power all over the place besides that.
