So the RAL2009 is the Pre 15.5FE color. I don't know the exact color, I'll ask the guy who did the paint. I had him match the new color thats a bit darker than the old one.

I'm assuming you can run stiffer clutch springs with the hinson clutch kit? I think I will be ordering one also to help save the tranny

I just ran the full kit they offer, so whatever springs they include. My clutch still feels butter smooth. Like I wrote earlier, I'm not just saying it's good because I have, I feel the low end grip and its most noticeable on concrete start pads.

Definitely worth a shot!

Here's a photo on the 250 when I did the 50 hour rebuild and test. Do you think I should stick with the blue seat or maybe go black?

The Lectron is cool and simple to adjust but if you are a perfectionist it still takes some tuning. I never rode the stock carb set up because I got the bike used. If you can afford it, the Lectron is worth trying. I'm going to stick with it.

Since I can't read a write up about it, what is hinsons reason/benefits for using this setup? I plan on ordering it here in the next couple weeks I'm just curious what they claim the benefits are of using this product. Also in case I missed it what color did u use for your frame? Tearing ours down now to get powder coated. Thanks

Hey so I don't have the exact color code. I had my powdercoat guy(Gas Powdercoat in Simon valley Ca) match the factory edition orange.

As for the clutch... before we threw the bike on the dyno, though, we snagged a DDS (Damped Diaphragm Steel) clutch kit from Hinson Racing to install. The DDS clutch, which is found in KTM's 450 SX-F, has been adapted by Hinson to help take some of the strain off the 250 and 350 SX-F's transmissions, while still putting the power to the ground effectively.

So the clutch has some rubber cushions that actually dampen some of the hard hit which caused some tranny problems. The best way that it was explained to me is in the fast chop or Supercross whoops you have the throttle pinned and the wheel spins fast and catches, that really stress' the gears. So the rubber bumpers will save that hit.

I noticed the starts on cement were so easy, it takes off that initial hit which made the rear tire grip like crazy.

How the heck did i miss these builds, Awesome Joe so sick!

Kinda devo finding it in a way because i now want to tear down my 16 250f! I like the welded tabs for the skid plate i need to do that to mine. Was the dampener put on the 250f too? I've never had any shake issues on mine was that the reason you installed?

Thanks man! The damper is on the 250f just to keep things extra stable. I find it does help me in soft corners to keep the front send tracking.

I do the Mammoth vet race, Washougal Vet race and World vet champs at Glen Helen so they are literally 3 of the roughest tracks on the west coast. Just a little helper for me... The 125 doesn't need it.

You have always had the skills to pay the bills bud, love that little part under the plate with the line work, has a badass look to it! You certainly have gotten good value out of that original design haha

Hey, so since my 125 is together, I've been riding that between being gone for work. Here's a few updates:
Twisted Development had some great results working with Yosh, so I'm going to test out this full system along with new maps from them.

I've been having some issues with my power valve on the 125, so I've been trying a new set of PV arms from F1moto:

Also threw in a full Hinson clutch in the 125 and it's night and day difference with traction. It's going to be hard running a stock clutch after this...

Been getting close to the final touches on the 250f! Can't wait to get this thing fired up.

Wheels from Dubya. Coated calipers. I'm also giving those Starcross tires a chance.

Came across this true carbon front disc guard to keep the oversized Galfer rotor safe.

Got a little tech with safety wire the countershaft.

Did you feel the stock clutch was slipping? Where did you get that sick CF disk guard. Also in your last pic did you forget a copper washer somewhere?

My stock basket was pretty notched, I didn't nessicarly feel it slipping but the Hinson clutch hooks up so much better. Not just saying that, it's really a night and day difference.

A friend of a friend got that guard for meEvil

Hahah that Copper washer was an old brake banjo one I found on the floor. Good eye though!Silly
