Looking for reviews from riders on here about the bike. I currently race a 2015 yz250f but I'm starting to lean towards the new 2 stroke. If its not what I'm looking for I'm just going to pick up another yz250f. What I want to know is the suspension better than previous years? How's the power delivery compared to 4 strokes? Is the vibration as low as they say it is?

my riding buddy has just swapped his 16 yam yz250f for a 17 husky tc250 and he absolutely loves it and took to it straight away, loads off the bottom and way more nimble, the biggest surprise though is the that he rates the aer 48 forks as being better than the sss on the yam. get it it bought you won't regret it

Tom there's a thread maybe two pages down with a discussion from a number of guys who bought them. Take a look there's good info.

tldr: Great bike. It's not a 4T and never will be but that's the fun. Suspension, ergos, motor are all great. No vibration (seriously). I'll be at FOD tomorrow and seaford Saturday, if you'd like to try it you're welcome to spin laps on mine.

I will be at FOD Sunday for the ktm demo but it's only for the trails.... hopefully I can get a feel for the bike from that though.

Everything I read gave it thumbs up. Nimble, good suspension, light, power delivery is smooth (for a 2 stroke), low vibration.

I rode one at the KTM demo day at Washougal a few weeks ago. It'd been years since I was on a 2T (like 25 years) and it was a little too much for me. No shortage of power that's for sure. Only got 2 laps so hard to develop a real opinion. But, the 150 2T was frickin awesome so I think the 250 would grow on me with some seat time. Vibration was quite low, that I can comment on, and the suspension felt just fine. Brakes were phenomenal!!!

If you want a review on a 17 YZ250 let me know. I can also compare it for you against a 16 KTM, but we have not rode a 17 yet.

MXA said it has 5 (!)more horsepower in the midrange than last year! They also said the husky was the "best 2 stroke ever made" Sounds like a great bike. Ill bet yamaha redoes the yz in the next couple years, since the ktm/husky has raised the bar this much.

I haven't posted anything for awhile due to life getting turned upside down, divorce, attorney's, moving, and all the other bullshiot that goes along with what I call a "life changing event",,, also, thieves broke into my storage unit and stole three bikes along with tools and a ton of moto part's Sad THE GOOD NEWS,,,,,insurance settled and I picked up the 17 KTM 250sx, it's an absolute blast and light as a feather. Bike is comfortable, my only complaint is the handlebars are too low, hello CR high Renthal, it's NOT 100% vibration free, I can ride it like a four stroke somewhat or I can make it come VERY ALIVE. I'll be 55 y/o in Nov. and it's the best gift I ever purchased for myself. I wont part with my EG modded 06 CR250 and the KTM will probably have to be pry'd from my hands, it's kind of like my divorce,,,,a Life Changing Event. Hope this helps anyone considering this bike.

Have been riding the 2017 SX 250 for 3 months now.

Here's my thoughts:
- Nimble and easy to get where you want it (it rails outsides like nobody's business and dives to the inside just as good)
- Very happy with the suspension, it does everything in a good way and is not harsh.
- Awesome powerband. Smooth and linear, but in no way slow. Good bottom and awesome mid.
- Light

I rode one about a month ago and loved it.

- Little to no vibration compared to a 2011 Sx250 Ive owned previously with phds bar bmounts.
- Suspension was the biggest improvement. Felt very similar to the SSS on my 16 YZ450 (Last bike I owned).
- Gearing seemed a little off for my "home" track. Id probably go up a tooth and lug third a bit more. Power was very linear and Im sure you could really dial it in with the powervalve springs.

Overall its a great bike. I rode it back to back with my buddies XC race bike (He owns both) with Cone Valve forks and I didnt notice a huge difference. I love the look of the Husky personally, and thats what Id spring for if I went that route.

They sure as hell last though! My yz has 52 hours hours on it with nothing but a few dings. I cracked 3 stock pipes and mangled one with less hours on my last two ktms. Aftermarket doesn't hold up much better with dents. Oem price is 200$, you can bet I'm buying another stock pipe when the time comes.

Nothing wrong with medeocricy. I love the Yz but it's nothing special.

Medeocracy must be pretty good since KTM basically spent the last several years trying to mimick it. Kudo's to medeocracy! KTM finally achieved it!

I got to ride it today I can't believe how smooth it was also had 0 vibration compared to the other models I rode. Also rode the 250f it was amazing I liked it more than my yz250f. It's going to be tough to decide between the 250sx or 250sxf.

If they are better then mediocracy does that not make them exceptional?

Do you guys ever venture up to northeastern PA? Hurricane hills, Broome, Pumpkin patch area? I've got a pair of Kawi two strokes and a 350 KTM that I would let you ride all day if I could spin a few laps on one of those new smokers Whistling

I got some good time in on mine. Had the suspension revolved and sprung for my weight. So much fun and so easy to ride. So light and flickable. Vibration has been reduced greatly. The one thing I could recommend to anyone with one is a exhaust. Fees so choked off. I put a fmf fatty and power core 2 on it and dear lord it rips. I love the yamahas I had but ktm is the only bike pushing the envelop on them.
