Good looking YZ! Blue rims look cool on Yam's. It's nice to see a YZ with the original style plastics. Not a fan of the new angular sharp lined plastics.

Thanks man! Honestly the rims/ hubs turned out better than expected. These SM Pro hubs are works of art. Very nice I must say.

I don't like todays trendy of covering every inch of a bike with decals. And is it a requirement to cover anything green with Monster Energy decals?

out of the hundreds of cool-ass bikes in this thread, this is the bike I'd like to spend some quality time with the most.

literally, the day I get my hands on a counterbalanced CR500 motor, I will build one out of the most current KTM chassis available at that time.

What did you use to get your exhaust that shiny? I have never been able to get my plated pipes to look like that

My 2006 Crf250r with a 1989 CR500 heart. First bore, wiseco piston with exhaust bridge relief, 38mm PWK airstriker, FmF Gnarly and Q series (trail bike), Renthal CR high bend, 320mm EBC front rotor, Magura hydraulic clutch, renthal/moose 48/13 gearing.

To do list: Compression valve on the head (my foot gets sore =P), Rekluse auto clutch and eventually a Panthera motorsports E-start kit (gives you 70w usable power along with e-start). I'd like to do all black plastics and polish everything also. I did this on my '97 CR250 many years ago and loved it. I realize it's not for everyone though!

I want another one already lol. I want an '86 motor because everyone says that was the year with gnarliest hp/tq bump when then powerband hit, this '89 pulls hard off idle though and I'm a big guy. I'd like to make it into a sand bike with some Millar Racing engine work/pipe combo for high rpm fun.
