Driving a "basic" Porsche spec, like Carrera S or even the turbo is not that special. Yes ive driven both, 991's.
However, the GT3 RS is REALLY special. Ive only sat in one, but it feels very special indeed.
The same feel you get from a Italian supercar.

The same goes for R8, its just boring. Its kinda a douchbag car aswell, cause its typicly "newly" rich or younger guys who cant afford ferraris and lambos who drive R8.

Surprised there's not more love shown for the C7 Z06 Corvette. The only thing quicker around a road course than it are the La Ferrari, Porsche 918 or McLaren P1 which all cost about 15 - 20x the cost of the Z06. The ACR is quicker but not really a street car. I really enjoy mine:

The GTS is actually decent to drive on public roads compared to Mercedes older sports cars like the SLS and SLR. ANd by comparison is much cheaper.

With that said, keep in mind alot buy the R8 or some Lambos for the AWD.

Most with that kind of money feel those cars are like a New Hyundai to most.
To them, 5-50 million dollar homes and private jets are luxury. Cars are just a tool to get to the golf course or the office.
They just buy higher end transportation.

DV would probably buy a 1983 Buick Roadmaster owned by a 78 year old man who drove it once a week to church and it sat in the garage the rest of the time.
Probably spend 3500.

Incognito balling.

I'm in the family business, we restore and build 1930's Bentleys and rolls royces. Might recognise the 27 litre spitfire engine one we build from this little programme we have in England...

You're 100% spot on. To be honest, thats the only American car worth buying.

And when they took the look of the Ferrari California 4 or so years ago, they hit a home run.(IMO)
Chevy did it right with that one. Great combo of looks, performance, and the price no doubt.

Wow, I think we may have a winner. Not exactly sure what the contest was, but winner it is.

I have a customer of mine who owns and restores old Rolls Royces. Beautiful cars with amazing detail. Do you source and supply parts to others such as him? Or just for your in house projects?

What's his name and where is he based Newmann? We manufacture 95% of the cars in house, we even produce the wire wheels ourselfs. About the only things we out source is the superchargers which come from a company in Anaheim CA and then CP make out pistons and rods.

Speaking of old classics and collectables. My grandfather had one of these, his was a 61', first year of production, square tube frame with the flat floor. It was the first left hand drive model brought into Canada, sold in Toronto originally to a wealthy doctor, he bought it with a blown engine and restored it. He sold it, along with the rest of his collection( a 52 XK120 roadster, a 52 xk120 coupe and a 47 Mark) to the former CEO of Nortel just before he passed away to keep my step grandmothers kids from having anthing to do with them....Bummer they are not the family. It was a true thing of beauty, and for its age would go 160mph, which my Dad claims to have toped it out at, with just a lap belt.

One of the most beautiful cars ever made, and I believe single handedly responsible for our motorway speed limits over here

When I was in middle school I would pedal my BMX bike over to Grandpa Bill's place and help him work on it,(stand and watch really, lol.) I can remember helping bleed the brakes like it was yesterday. The first time he started it for me, the sound was incridible. Pretty rare car over here in Canada. My Grandfather was a drafting and auto shop teacher at the local highschool, before that he worked for Avro avation building Lancaster bombers for the allied war effort.

If you can still turn while accelerating, you aren't accelerating quickly enough.

There is a number one on this car ( R8 ) for a reason .

The car has #1 because there are Belgians running the team, and one of the most talented Belgian Race drivers are driving it. Bye the way the Blancpain series is amazing, because every car can win. The BMW can, Bentley sportscar run by the Rally organisation M-Sports can, ...

To be honest if I had money like KRoc and Barcia, I wouldn't buy R8's, you see them too much. I would buy something like a Wiesmann.

Or the Koenigsegg Agera RS, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Jaguar F-Type Coupe, Maserati Granturismo,... I'm also crazy about old classics like the Camaro, Mustang, ... the normal one every European dreams about. But if you earn like them, make people build you a cool HotRod with at least a V8 engin in it.
9/29/2016 2:36pm
If we are talking classics there is only one for me, Ferrari F40 LM, slightly different ball park figure to an R8 though....

Barcia and Roczen where very proud on their R8. But to be honest, isn't that a car for cheapskates? Everyone knows that the R8 is the cheap brother of the Lamborghini Gallardo. A real beast! If you make NFL, MLB or Football money you don't buy R8's I think. Isn't a bit like buying a Huawei because it can all the same things as the IPhone and be proud of it?

On the other hand, same engin is in it.

Maybe you can talk smack about their decision when you buy an R8.
