I thought Barcia"s interview was good, he is struggling with bike setup & told the truth. Reed is known for very good bike setup, if JGR is that far off, why not take Reeds setup & let Barcia try it? Both factory Yamaha. I"m sure they talk? What happened to Antunez? Thought he had Barcia on the right path last year...
Not that easy, there has been rumors that the JGR team is "screwing" with the bike too much and they should take more help from Yamaha and KYB but they want to do things in their own way(Source: Matthes).

2015 Roczen was having issues with bike set up. 2016 Roczen feeling good about his bike set up. See any difference?

After reading Vital's review of Seely's Honda..how it's easy to ride and most of the teams effort is geared towards rider preferences, I think Barcia's problem isn't the YZ, it's the team.
JGR has some really trick bikes. no doubt, but does all that (NASCAR) type engineering really make the bike more ridable or does it just work on paper.
When Reed had those couple standout rides in SX this year, I immediately thought the problem with JGR was the team, not the bike.

I agree, they want to do things in their own way. And that might not be the best way to do things.

I know that Matthes has talked about this issue. That there are people that thinks they should take more input of Yamaha and KYB.

Although Barcia has a lot to blame himself for the bad results.

So everyone agrees with Barcia's assessment of his own speed and fitness? Hasn't looked that well at all until last couple weeks. Maybe Phil can give him some testing pointers. Laughing

Barcia's looking for a way out. He bitched about the Honda too, and the team as a whole...while most others were doing well on it. I imagine Coy put a boot up his butt after last weeks shenanigans, and Justin got his feelings hurt.

Looked like JB's line selection in the 2nd could have been better and he wasn't stringing sections together very well.

god this shit gets old

Justin rode his balls off yesterday and looked good doing it. Tickle is riding a a wave of his own right now and the only guys in front of those two were Eli effing Tomac and Kenny Superman Roczen.

I remember when Stewart was blaming the bike and even got out of his contract to go to Suzuki. That turned out well.

Bracia loves the team. He was simply honest and frank. Now you wankers want to make more or it. He will keep doing his homework and improve. I think he was pissed tickle beat him, not Tomac or Kenny.

He seemed pretty quick to point fingers at his bike during his TV interview after the 2nd moto. I don't remember him ever being that vocal this year about the bike being a problem? Is he really struggling with the bike that much?
Here is the quote from what Barcia had to say, sounds like a realistic assessment but somehow drama queens like you spin this into "finger pointing".

"The bike was a little better, we've been struggling a little bit, struggling with some stuff, but I feel like I've been riding good," said the Autotrader.com/Monster Energy/Toyota/JGR Yamaha rider. "It hasn't just been the bike, though, definitely not all the bike, I've been having some issues, too, me crashing, all kinds of stuff. But I feel like I could have maybe finished like this last week if stuff hadn't happened. First moto I got a good start, second moto I didn't and I just had to charge, charge, charge. I gave it everything I had to try to get Tickle but all of those guys are riding really good. I know there are a lot of guys absent right now but I think this pack is still damned strong."

I agree that he loves his team...but I can't help but wonder if his team was on Honda with Tomac as a team mate would things be different?

Barcia is not Elite. He is finishing where he should. 5-10th.

As far as JGR goes sooner or later they they are going to have to start a lites team to so they can groom their own talent and teach them the JGR way. Whatever that means. Being in the rider retread business will never work. I know they think organizations win titles but that's not the case in this sport.

How do you explain his wins last year? Or his 2 regional sx titles? Or his multiple 450 SX wins? Or the year him, Bagget, and Tomac took it down to the last round in the outdoors on little bikes....and check the points, he beat Tomac....which everyone claims to be a world beater...

So far, the experts here have explained it by saying he's a 5-10th place guy.

Results don't lie buddy. Sorry your in denial. He may actually pull a 3rd or 4th overall this year with everyone out. I'll give you that. Ask your self this , can Barcia beat Roczen, Dungey, Tomac, Anderson, Seely, Canard, Bagget, I'll throw some wild cards in there Webb, J Martin, Musquin, hell even Reed on an entire series points overall for better than a top 5? im sure you will find your answer is NO. There is nothing wrong with it. Just how it goes. I'm no expert to see the obvious.

Yeah and your white trash. What is wrong with 5-10 results. With a healthy roster of riders. I'm done.

Canard cannot finish 3 races without a dirt sample. Bagget has never won anything on a 450. Seely has 1 SX win. Chad Reed....dude be real here, indoors maybe, but he is sitting on the couch for the outdoors.

Barcia is on the same level as Anderson IMO. A constant podium threat, and when the planets align will get a win.

YZF 450 owner? Don't be bummed, it's probably a decent bike for weekend warriors

Roczen is a better rider than Barcia. Roczen is able to win on a bike that he isn't 100% comfortable on.
