We (DV and I) had a knock down drag out way back in 2005 or 6 went for a few pages before we actually to it to PM's. We agreed to drop it and let shit go. Been internet pals ever since. Kinda like a guy you can despise on track but in the pits ya drink a beer and bullshit like best pals.

RC lapped them all that day.
Someone posted on MotoTalk that it was going to rain again next weekend.

I like DV's open opinions, yes sometimes I dont like what he says about my fav riders but sometimes the truth hurts...as was said previously in this thread, it is his own opinion, you dont have to like it...just like some dont like yours.

To me HE continues to portray himself as arrogant and offensive, stereotypical of the common view of the French.

Yes, i do pass by his Twitter account daily, (only for him to portray to the world what a wonderful lonely life he has.) it is entertaining as is MX Large. often craving recognition and reasserting that he is indeed himself.

Although his attacks on Vital members that post "scoops" only for DV to retort "welcome to 3 weeks ago".sadden me and bring me to write this Topic.

Love him, laugh at him or hate him, your thoughts or fond memories on DV.......
Portray? Why would anyone "portray" themselves negatively? That doesnt even make sense.

...and "stereotypical of the common view of the French"?

Thats saying that people's view of the French is sterotypical. It doesn't say anything about stereotypes OF French people.

Where the fuck did you learn grammar?

He talks funny but being French isn't his fault.
Has a hot ex wife and a couple of great kids.
Was not a superstar but he was one of the best when he was racing and that is quite a accomplishment.
I don't know him personally but I do like that he talks a little shit and is anything but politically correct.

I like DV. Sure he can be a dick sometimes, I'm sure he'd admit that himself, but I definitely respect his opinion and everything he achieved during his career. The guy was probably one of the top 5 riders in the world for a number of years, you can't knock that

To the OP: what's the point in calling out a guy like this on an open forum, asking for an opinion on that person based on a label?

I like to read DV's opinions and views of the races. If you don't, I suggest that you stop checking his twitter account daily.
5/8/2016 10:43am
The most telling thing is that despite all the negative things you say about him, you check his Twitter account daily. That is a childlike characteristic.

My advice to you is don't judge him just off the stuff you see him write online or for mags.
If you ever make it to a race and he's around,go talk to him.
He's actually a very nice guy, down to Earth with no ego.

I remember at his first race here in states in Seattle in the 125 class.
He was so humble and in awe walking around everyone just thought he was a fan before the races (even TFS thought that).
He went out and won the 125 main that night LOL.
Put back on his street clothes a sweater, jeans & ski jacket( I think) and walked around like a fan.
He didn't act like he was anything special.
Yes indeed FastEddy. He was super excited to be there and you could see in in his mannerisms all night. In practice, he actually stopped and dug a hole with his rear tire while waving at the fans. I think I remember a few heel clickers too. Smile

I love DV. Yes, he can seem arrogant but it's entertaining. You don't have to agree with him but his rants are fun to listen to IMO.

More DV!!!

Glad he is set for life and enjoying retirement. I read his articles but I just can't stand his voice/ super thick accent. He has been in the USA much longer than say Marvin Musquin. Marvin speaks with zero accent. Maybe DV has a speech impediment he can't overcome. If that's the case I get it.

I am guessing his English is better than your French.
