Whatever happened to Billy Binckly's plan to have races behind the Squirrel Tree at Coles Corner? I'm assuming noise issues, but it sure could have been a great place for racing for folks from each side of the state.

Some pretty legendary racers in that group.

You're forgetting so many people.

Ryan Grantom, Jacob Blomfield, Vann Martin.

Texas also had The Wharton Bros, Cunningham, Lemoine, Teddy Parks, Vernon McKiddie. I mean, we got some bad dudes...even still.

love it that you put Ahmad. he was the original JS7. I think he was saying Ryan. I used to race those guys every weekend.

I raced against those guys too and yes, i too think Ahmad Owens was the original JS7 of michigan!Smile

I remember sitting in bleachers of the spectator jump (bike blew up Wink ) and Ahmad came down across the start straight, got severe headshake, went ass over heals cartwheeling, got up like he just tipped over and took off again. Crowd was cheering and clapping him on! I remember thinking he was a tough sumbitch, i prolly would've just laid there. It was brutal

Thank you Camp. I would bet Clay is still fast as hell. I believe one year he earned national # 51.
Anybody remember John Day from around Tulsa, back in early 80s?
