What are the odds that they finally picked a winner?
KTM in Finland has a solution to it though. I know almost nothing on suspension service so don't quote me on this but this is what i heard today.
There is a rubber o ring that freezes/gets too hard and that's why the fork collapses if the temperature outside is really low. The solution is to put some vaseline on the o ring. I have no idea what o ring the guys were talking about but i think i'll know more by the end of the week when my FE 450 should be at my dealer.

But the AER forks are better than the 4cs forks. They like them a lot! They are also the best air forks at the moment according to Keefer and i think ML512 said that his early impressions was that they were better than the other air forks.
Stock form was good but the air pressure was too high for me at 190lbs.
Dropped the pressure to 150psi and had a better feel. Stock setup you could feel some feed back through the bars in your hands. Explained like a slap on hard impacts.
Upon revalving them we were able to get the slap to go away. We changed the midvalve design up some going to a mechanical oring type. We got it to work surprising well.
I have heard of the failure with them getting stuck mid stroke but haven't had one myself.
With the fork sitting over time we are getting pressure building up in the outer chamber. Talking to WP about possible causes and a fix. It won't be long until SKF has a solution for the air side I'm sure.
This is the first I have heard of WP having a spring conversion. Not a bad move in my opinion. They have learned from the mistakes made by KYB and Showa.
One of the best fork setup I have ever ridden was a spring conversion on the Showa Tac.
I have a buddy that has the race-tech conversion but it was an a KX450F. He seems pretty happy with it.

You are the first person I've seen here with a17. Maybe you could start a new thread and let us know what you have found so far
You revalved or anything?
