We were parked next to the rider who passed away. Very very sad.

Seems that maybe two riders where messing around, that part is speculation. This next part is for sure:: One bumped another which caused him to whiskey throttle over a berm. He wheelied into some riders who were waiting on the track. The guy who whisky'd, broke the neck of the guy who was innocently waiting on the track. Terrible.

We helped the deceased's friend pack up and help him take care of things. It was so awful. Poor guy was shaking. I felt so sorry for him and didn't know what to say or do, other than be there for him and just pack up the gear.
You did a good thing. Nothing more could have been done.

very sad. i hope it was a pure accident, not the 1st version. ive seen that shake underdog. thats a tough pull for that guy and his friends and family.
not that this could have been prevented,i wasnt there and dont ride there. it still amazes me some of the places people stand or sit at a track. and,or are let to stand or sit there.

Not that it matters, but I'm trying to figure out how this happened at the track exit point? there is a small jump and then a flat left turn where the riders wait to enter the track?

It doesn't matter at all.

This thread should be for condolences and nothing else.
I am so sorry for the families affected by this.

RIP to the rider, condolences to the family and thoughts to the other rider whose bike struck the deceased. That has to weigh heavy on their mind, so sympathies to them as well.

I was there yesterday, with my 9 year old son and took two things away from the experience after the initial shock. The out pouring of immediate assistance by so many people nearby to assist with CPR and to attend to the injured riders was uplifting. I am proud of the rider community. My second thought is that there are just too many people who loiter in the middle track area. This freak accident was avoidable. I don't condone over reaction, but please rider to rider, if you are done with your laps, leave the track area. Prayers to the riders family. We were gutted yesterday. Thx to those who gave medical aid.
