1st glance 1980 (?) XR200. Looks like a 200/185 motor, still the twin-shock. 81 was the first single-shock. Actualy Looks like good condition roller, no major weather damage.

I had a 1978 xr 75 that looked alot like that ,also missing the side panel.

Edit: I don't remember the tank coming up at the filler like that one.

Could be an old XR/XL maybe 125 or 100cc

My brother had an 84 XR200E (which had the dual shock and steel tank, no battery and no signals, etc), The 200cc engine has a "CDI" marked ignition cover on the end of the single camshaft on the left side of the head. The regular XR200R's had single shock and there was a 4 valve "RFVC" version of the 200cc for a few years in the mid or late 80's.

That looks like a smaller 125cc engine or possibly a 100cc engine. That could be an XL model of the 125. Are there mirror mounts? Ignition/key switch, battery or any other signs of being road-legal? XL is the street legal version of XR.

Could be 82+ 100, would be a twin-shock and the tank is 82+ style.
And TallonT911 was just inches away from taking a pic of the head-tube # and motor # . . . .

Would make for a good vintage racer.
Drum brakes.
Air cooled.
Twin shock.

Could maybe sneak that in with the pre 1974 class.

And ya, wash that thing, cover the seat, looks like a low hrs bike.

alkost positive its a 100. The 75/80 had the smaller wheels and a 200 was a full size bike. I just cant remember what the tanks looked like, but i do vaguely renember having an 82 XR80 with a metal tank now. It had a black stripe down it and the color was darker than the Tahitian red of the CR's.

I'm not sure, I really didn't look at it too much unfortunately. He had so much cool stuff on his property to look at. Old kenworths, old tractors, the American pickers guys would have a field day out there

thats a 1983 xr 100. I believe the 82's had a black stripe running down the tank front to back . they went to the plastic tank in 85 and adopted the pro link rear suspension. My first bike was an 83 xr 80 and it looked exactly like that but in new condition.

It is an 84 XR100 or 200. The shocks were red that year only. Black in 83. Last year for twin shocks. "Flash" red.
...I work at a Honda shop and I'm bored.

Negative on the 83- check the shock spring color. Black prior to 84. 1984 is the only year for the red springs.
It's what I do bra...

Hey Mike, I lean towards agreeing with TalonT911....looks more like it's an 84 due to the red shock springs. 1983 had black shock springs.

1984 xr80 if you don't want it I'll take it. Its definitely not a 100 and is definitely an 84. Wrong swing arm fender and subframe for a 100 and the red shocks only came on an 84. Debate over.

Then you should study Hondas when you're bored because you're wrong.
