Exactly. lol. OP posted this same thread in the tacomaworld forum, when I poked at him for doing it he tattle told on me to the mods. There's even an ATV section on tacomaworld he decided to post in the 3rd gen section.
You said you were going to report the thread to theods so it could be moved. We said we all would all know who it was if it were reported. We never said anything about reporting you. I can go take a screen shot if you would like to see what you wrote there.

Now that I go back... Your comments about reporting the thread were deleted and the thread is still in the 3rd gen forum. Sooooo

Exactly someone didn't like my honest and reported my comments (b*tch move). Regardless, you posted about quads in two non related quad areas (here and in tacomaworld).

We got a new 2016 Tacoma in December and we have been taking it out almost every weekend. She gets really bored so she thought about getting a quad. I grew up riding dirt bike and quads were for old Men, girls, and night riding after sitting around the fire got boring.

I started looking around Craigs and found a few hits and many misses. We had a friend who has 4 daughters that bought 3 midsized quads and a 230f. They had a Honda Sportrax 250ex, a 300 Raptor, and a 250 Suzuki something. The Sportrax was the one I always rode and I liked the longitudally placed engine, the shaft drive completely enclosed in the swing arm, and the oil cooler. Almost nothing to break.

I found a nice 2002 Sportrax 250ex for sale in San Bernardino. Picked it up tonight for 1500. It has front and rear DG aluminum bumpers, Big Gun pipe, very clean, and current registration. Many 250exs in worse condition were listed for 2000 to 3000. For 13 years old, the plastics are scuffed and the underside of the frame is almost scratch less. The guy also bought a real Honda seat that was manufactured in November! Those go for around 105 bucks and I'm sure he bought it at a dealership....

My wife was really excited. We are going to go to Chaparral on Saturday morning to get a helmet for her, some fluids, and a new gas can. Then to service it that morning and take it to Stoddard to teach her to ride. I know it probably doesn't need service, but just to make sure.

It's got a Green Sticker!

Rolled it in and set the parking brake. Never done that before with a bike....

It's very clean for 13 years old.

As for me, I will be driving the truck until I get my 250 ready to ride. I stopped riding when my health insurance was dropped in college. I haven't ridden since 2010 but this has sparked me to clean the carb and drain my gas tank on my 2002 yz250. It's a green sticker, as well. Also has a fresh bottom end installed around 2008 after it blew the shim on the crank. Maybe has 10 hours on that bottom end.

Cool, its good that she is into it, have fun

I remember when I picked up a Yamaha Blaster a few years ago to do snow riding in the winter all my friends flipped out. So, I let them ride it once and now they all have cheap quads to ride in the snow lol. Smaller sport quads are a lot of fun to play on I dont care what anyone has to say. Thats a nice 250ex you got and theyre practically bullet proof.

It wasn't me. I assumed you reported the thread, it was reviewed, and your comments were deleted. I didn't report you. I really didn't care. I knew I would be given a hard time about quads but I thought people would understand it was for my wife....

I respect those who respect me. I've changed many a bike rider's mind about quads by going out and straight up beating them on the track, and i guarantee I'd do the same to you bud. Unsafe? I'm smoother around an MX track than 90% of bike guys, and unlike many of you, I hold my line.

Reaffirming stereotypes how exactly? I'm a guy who has grown up loving all things motorports related, and now manage a sales department at a respected dealership. I ride everything from crotch rockets to dual sports, Quads, UTVs, snow bikes and yes, dirt bikes.

I'm also a huge supporter of the sport of motocross. Helping young riders of both 2 and 4 wheeled machines get connected with sponsors and learn how to ride. Just because when I go to the race track my usual weapon of choice is a highly modified, pro level ATV you all of a sudden have the right to condemn me as a dangerous rider? Get your head out of your ass.

I'm on this forum because I am a fan of the sport of motocross, and because for 11 years I have been spending my summers on motocross tracks all over Canada and the US. I have just as much right to be here as you do, so kindly go fuck yourself.

PS. Gay jokes? really bud? if thats the best you can do you need to re-evaluate
Brag much?

You quadtards sure get bent out of shape easily.

Unless your wife can't ride a bicycle, I would say immediately sell that thing and get her a bike. She will ask you if this quad makes me look fat and it will be all over. Get a moto immediately for her. Just trying to save your marriage now.

This is the proper response, a used CRF150 or 230 would have been perfect.

I upped the pilot from 38 to 42 and took the main from 102 to 105. The previous owner installed the pipe and air filter and only went from 95 to 105 on the main. It was idling really hot so the pilot really helped it run better all around. It doesn't run nearly as hot now. I'm sure it's too rich but rich is better lean.

Went to Stoddard after I worked on it. My wife got better and even bush whacked for a mile or two. I was driving on the main trail and watching her off the trail beside me. I looked over once just as she slammed into a big creosote bush she couldn't miss.... BANG! She put her hands up like, why was this bush in the way?

I rode it twice and got it into some too big whoops for my speed. My first ouch was trying to down shift and my foot slipped forward. The front wheel took my shoe off and my leg went up under the front fender and made a little crack in the plastic. That leg hurts still... Then later I tried to show her how to do donuts and I almost flipped it. That other leg doesn't hurt anymore...

We had fun though. As it got dark and she got tired, I got on just outside of SlashX and drove for about an hour as the sun went down and it got completely dark. Ended back in the main area near the 15 and loaded up.

Here's a video of her riding on a side trail, and sometimes off it... IT IS SO GREEN IN STODDARD RIGHT NOW. It's crazy green!

Just pointing out that I am more involved with motocross than most of the pricks screaming "non-moto"

I race on the same day, same track as the bikes at the series I run. For most, there's mutual respect. We respect the bike guys because without them we wouldn't have a series, and they respect us for doing all the same jumps and laying down comparable laptimes with twice the weight.

If I were as biased as you guys the kid I'm working out a sponsorship for right now wouldn't be getting the time of day from me, would he?

Obviously some of you guys have never harescrambled or Mx ed a quad. They are hands down harder on u physically. I've raced both and am more tired after a 2 hour harescramble on a quad than on a bike. so why don't some of you try it b4 talk shit.

I know what you mean. I rode the thing twice and almost wrecked it 3 times. The scariest was when I was going through a little wash in fourth gear. I saw a bump that only one side was going to hit.... I assumed it would soak it up.... The bars jerked out of my hands so fast I didn't know what happened! I kind of just fall on the thing to keep it from flipping and it righted itself and I kept riding

and I also almost flipped it twice. Those stupid quads are dangerous

Just before the sun went down I bush whacked through the powerline road and had some great lines. They weren't fast, but it was still fun

Good stuff ,OP. Fuck the haters. Nice work getting the wife out there.
I raced quads years ago, they are definitely harder on you to hustle around an MX track. I still miss mine sometimes.
Btw, quad sales are what keep the big 4 in business, it sure as hell isn't new bike sales. Some of you need to get a fucking life.

So I got the bike running. It would have fired without all the cleaning of the carb but the tank needed to be drained. The gas stunk really bad. The float bowl had a teeny bit of oil in the bottom and nothing else. It fired first kick and I heated it up for a cycle in the garage. Cleaned off the dust and loaded it up on this piece of shit which broke on our way to Chaparral to pick up some stuff. One of the clamping nuts broke off and it let the whole unit sway side to side. We drove it home slowly and are looking for a trailer now.

I'll get to ride sometime in the coming months. I don't want to go to Milestone or Glen Helen because I don't feel comfortable riding any track until make sure the bike is good and I build up some muscle.

:/

And YES, those are Montclair Yamaha graphics. I'll buy new plastics before I take those off. Hang them up in the garage as a show piece someday. RIP Montclair Yamaha

a quad are you serious?? Come on man this is a MOTO forum, you deserve all the flak you're getting. My girl is also technically a "beginner" and even she refused to ride anything other than one of my old 250f's. Ive just been teaching her technique and she practices alot and she rides all the tracks with me, albeit much slower, and has the time of her life. And even she hates on the 4 wheel couch machines. Doesn't matter whether its the baddest banshee or raptor, it still has 4 wheels and a big ol couch cushion and is meant for those who are too soft or unskilled enough to ride a bike. Get her off that immediately and at the very least onto a Honda trail bike... if your girl is able to ride a pedal bicycle then she can ride a MX bike and there is noooo need for you to have her riding that shitty couch. Unless she's a whale and like 300lbs...

Just checked in to say that llama GIF is the goods and that quads are an instrument of the devil. Broke my leg at my dads property on a ranch quad, which I blame on a rattlesnake and a few too many Steelheads....guess that's my fault. Back in 08 or 09 my local track Club Moto would let quads out from 7 to 9pm on tues and thurs practices which I never had a problem with. But for those that have been there know it's a narrow track even for bikes, let alone quads. One night some dude was trying to show off for a group of girls that parked on the road near a 55 to 60 foot step up, typical quad rider gassing it everywhere but the face of a jump. Well he decides to continuously cut the track to hit the same jump, only landing on the top doing a quad whip (spastically whipping the bars left to right). Needless to say he decides to jump on the track as I was about to hit the jump and hits me mid air kicking out my back end, dont remember much afterwards as I suffered a concussion, broken collarbone, shattered left hand, and sprained neck.......in the middle of July. They have no buisness on a track with bikes ever. Ill hold the real resentment and feelings about quads and their riders to myself.

Post a reply to: Just bought the wife a bike! (a quad actually) ...with my wallet
