Street bikes don't have chain tensioners

I believe you mean chain guides.

Holy shit!.....that exact same thing happened to me in the first turn at Corona Raceway about 30 years ago. They red flagged the race and stopped the entire night for about 15 minutes. First they took the axle out and THAT didn't work, then they started cutting spokes with a bolt cutter....til eventually I was free. I can't imagine why they needed to cut through the swingarm. There was definitely no way I was getting out without help though; If they just turned the lights off and everyone went home leaving me there...I would've died.....attached to a YZ 250! Laughing

Huh...I remember seeing that type of thing when I worked at Corona...through about '75, so that would have predated your experience. Often the outcome wasn't very good on those. I didn't hear the final deal for this guy, and hope it wasn't too bad.

Wait I'm a little confused , what happened to the policewomans leg? She got it stuck where?
I think it's in the motor home. Of course it could be in Davi's locker for all I know, I'm having a hard time keeping up too.

Removing the bolt might not have mattered–if his leg was jammed in there I doubt you could slide the wheel out...

Removed axle nut and then cut swingarm? Good thing KTM is backwards, every axle i can think of is, bolt in from right and nut on left.

Thanks for the story GuyB.

What in the hell are you talking about old dude??

All bikes are bolt in from the left and nut on the right, including the KTMs.

I think I read that he broke his ankle. The guy's name is Ryan Rassa from MD.

Why would he have put his foot there? He had to know it would hurt!
3/9/2016 6:33am
do you people even work on bikes? the axle nut was removed to allow the cut piece of swingarm to be taken out of the way. There is no way that axle was coming out without standing the bike up....the axle is pointed to the ground.

any other location that rider would be enduring a pile of pain to get removed....the daytona guys cut apart $100K race cars likely on a weekly basis, cant imagine they would even flinch at something like that.

*sidenote i saw the car with the ripped of bumper saturday and figured some kids were having fun....never imagined the DUI and smashed motorhomes too. no way that was only 3 beers

Yeah, I would've done the same thing, Hacking his leg off would've got your bike all full of blood and stuff.

You realize you can put the bolt in either way? It isn't directional ( at least any that I have seen). I usually put the in from the right to left to hold the caliper bracket in place but that's just me. The come the other way from factory.............

Hmm. Well. That sucks. How's the riders leg ?

I can't remember people getting sucked into the rear wheel so often. It seems more and more common. I saw this one.
