This happened to a buddy in a first turn crash back in the day. 125C class. He somehow ended up with his boot stuck between the wheel and swingarm of an RM 125, upside down? People were like "cut the spokes" (which is a much better option than destroying a swingarm) and the owner screamed "no!". They eventually just took the wheel off. Amazing when you think about it though, no way you could push a boot/leg into that small space. Crashes provide some strange circumstances for sure!

So they cut the swingarm in half, then removed the axle bolt?

Pretty sure JLaw was riding a bike in the pits, chasing down a drunken police woman who was hitting motorhomes in the pits after the race. Guy, I have seen that happen twice. Both times in the early to mid 1980's...both bikes were YZ100's. My oldman used bolt cutters to cut the spokes which collapsed the wheel enough to get the dudes foot out.

I cringe to think of that happening with a modern bike with the brake disc thrown in.

Who got dragged down the start straight a couple years ago with their leg between the rear tire and the air box area? For some reason I thought it was ivan.

Street bikes don't have chain tensioners so on a road racing bike you'll often if not always as required see a little shark fin mounted under the swing arm in front of the rear sprocket. Imagine that bad boy chewing your foot or hand.

Happened to me back in 93 also. 2nd corner 125 race. My leg was fine save for tyre burn on my boot where the wheel was spinning and I even finished the race. the worse part was when the OP was trying to pick their bike up and get going bending my leg up. I think the flagger just rotated the wheel by hand and it came out.
Also got one leg caught in the back wheel like above and got dragged down the track a bit with me yelling out until the OP worked out where the power of his bike had gone. Bit of boot burn again but ripped the foam spandex ass out of my AXO's. Changed gear and lined up for next moto.

Magnetic legs IDK?

seen it done by clipping spokes and taking wheel out , but to be fair , you get the guy out and worry afterwards..

Im sure KTM might help out if someone asked nicely.

I was thinking that it was the ktm riders own leg that got caught but it was another rider. That's an expensive bill for another riders leg!!!

Yeah, I can't believe it's even a question of whether to chop it or who's paying and all that mess. Of course, chop that thing off if you can do it safely and quickly. It's a damn swing arm. It's replaceable.
