If he could ride a main like he just did that heat, he would be top 5.

He is faster than some other factory riders, it is just a shame he is skipping the US outdoors for random races elsewhere.

Someone should tell him he is a very good at racing SX.
He is much better than past years.
He got passed in the main in a bowl turn because he conceded. It's fun pulling FOR 800.

Regarding his brother, 801... why isn't Jeff's nickname now "the Laser"? Jeff "the Laser" Alessi? :D

Could at least have fun with it.

I liked how Jeff was racing in the LCQ too. He was aggressive, yet clean, and didn't give up.
Unfortunately he didn't make it. Good luck next week.

No, if he rode the main like his heat, he would be about 14 laps short.

He might win a title here, he has no chance of that in the US. I can see the temptation to battle for wins and a title versus battling to make the top 5/top 10.

Great heat race at pace of front runners and great first laps in Main before he went down in turn.
I was thinking who is riding his 800 bike when i was watching heat race just solid laps.

He needs confidence and he has lost it whether that is due to him knowing he is not ready and capable of winning which is hard to admit but at least something you can work on. He's got the speed but it's hard to put that for 20 laps if your program and body and bike isn't perfect. He is one of the most talented and fastest riders the sport has seen just injuries and other drama along the way derailed that.

You make it sound like you know what your talking about.. The moto colony is so blessed to not only have someone of your insight and total understanding but your willingness to impart it on us all is just so special..

Question, what do you mean when you say it's hard for Mike to do it for 20 laps? Because he finished outside the top ten last night due to a crash? Do you think that for Canard and Peick, cuz they also finished outside the top ten last night and multiple others this year!!

Genova is the Alessi family rabbi. AMA (& the industry) blackballed the clan for reasons real amd imagined. Rabbi G stepped in and gave the clan his proxy------and the middle finger went up, at everyone. They don't need outside sponsors. They don't even need industry sponsors, because Rabbi G has 'fuck you' money. It's gotta have caused angst for those who control the party's invitation list, since Rabbi G can throw his own fuckin party.

Now, Rabbi G adopts another talented reject from the 'cool guys club' in Vince Friese. Without Rabbi G and his proxy financing, the usual suspects would have locked the door in VF's face. Didn't happen thiugh, did it. Talent is hard to hide, but silent agendas are even harder to sniff out.

Every guy outside the cool guys club needs a rabbi. Genova isn't a bad one to have. Personally, I love watching the MotoConcepts crew make the establishment folks uncomfortable.

I like your analogy to the "Rabbi", don't know how much they were "blackballed" tho. But....I alos agree with the eff you money! But sometimes these things still come back to bite, especially in the close knit moto industry.

Genova has given Mike a great opportunity for several years now... I'm glad he was able to do that.

Friese has had other offers before Motoconcepts, it just turned out to be a good fit for him.

As far as Friese. . .I don't agree he is a reject and has no options. I thought it was mentioned that Pro Circuit offered him a ride for the east 250's.. If PC is knocking, he's not locked out. ( I think he is an idiot not to take it!!) lol

He has not got very many friends on the track these days. . . but he has come a long way over the past years.

I don't like the way he rides sometimes, but he is the one that has to live with it, not me.

Sounds like he'll be stepping into the vacancy created by Metty's departure.

Mike and his bro are racing professionally and doing just fine. If I (and most others) were half as good we'd be walking around with a perpetual erection. Really tired of hearing that riders that aren't on the podium should take up knitting.

Well you are a Douchebag and condensing ass wipe. I thought I was being pretty nice and saying good things about him. I am not referring to just last night but in general. He fades quickly outside top ten pretty much every main which means he hasn't been able to put that speed in for a solid 20 laps and other guys are passing him fairly easily but again injuries and other things have hurt that and I think he is doing great considering and can only get better from here. I'm one of the few that actually like the guy and respect his talent. Jerk

He seems to have fitness issues. It's been like this for many seasons. It's hard when you have guys turning the same lap times the whole race.
