I don't understand why people think JS7 is still a contender. He's out of shape, no race time and he doesn't have that "edge".

Same here, count me in as "completely delusional" as well then because a heathly JS7 can and will win races.

To think JS7 "can't" is delusional. James looked like he put on a few pounds but he beat Dungey in the heat race and was leading Dungey in the main. Will he win this week? I doubt he will but to say he can't???????? This is still "James Stewart" on a dirtbike.

OK I got all you guys who think I'm so whacked................guess we got 11 races to see..........guess I should have been more "timeline" appropriate

for him to come back right now, line up and beat Dungey, with the roll he is on in the last 6 races.................and Stew not running a 20 lap race pace in a year and a half

THAT is what I think is delusional............guess we can all have an opinion Evil Evil Evil

At the risk of being called a bunch of names OTHER than just Newb, I would like for James to be able to finish a race. I had to look back at the last time he actually finished a race (other than Straight Rhythm) and it was....Moto 1 of Millville July 2014! He crashed out of the 2nd one and hasn't finished one since. He got a 22nd in the last two SX's of that year too and not sure if they were crashes. He crashed out of Monster Energy Cup and Bercy. The poor guy just needs something to build on.

I'm a big stew fan and SX is better with him in it. I used to love all his nonsense with the sprinkler and worm when he won. The videos with his brother and all that made him fun. He used to take chances and jump stuff nobody else would try. I don't see than anymore unfortunately. At Bercy he looked mortal and wouldn't do the quad. Here's a quote from Rocky Balboa in Creed: Time takes everybody out; time's undefeated.

I think I understood what mb60 was trying to say that he should have been ready. I took that to mean that in his heart he should be chomping at the bit to go racing. I think by not showing up to races and signing autographs when you're not racing is a mistake. This is my opinion.

Being called a redneck for stating my opinion on this subject is hilarious. JS7 is my favorite rider and nothing would make me happier to see him win again as in 2014. But seeing him about 15 pounds overweight for such a little guy was a let down as a fan. The crash and concussion had nothing to with him being not ready for the season. But watching him at the Monster cup and Bercy he looked horrible. To me it's sad to see Reed at 34 now trying to get stronger and better every year. I have said all along that JS7 will look back on his career with a lot of regrets. He wasted so many years and seasons and the end is fast approaching now.

His corner speed was off from the beginning of this year! Seemed like he was getting arm pump as the motors went on.

Im 100% sure JS7 still has plenty of wins in him! All this RD talk is too funny. Dude gets hole shot and beats Cole by 3 seconds. Now I hear if RV was racing RD would smoke him. Lord what a bunch of bull. RD had 5 years too do that! Now that RV has retired all the sudden RD is Superman, but he is winning by less than 5 seconds.

Hopefully he's not rushing it. I'd love to see him back racing but I don't want to see the guy go down because he's not 100%

Loved the video. Never seen the video of him at Daytona throwing a huge whip after getting totally out of shape two jumps before.

Anyone know what race that was at 11:16? Think it was 2014 season.

Agreed juss....if the apparent golden boy has set a new level its kind of funny a 12yr vet of the class can match his speed glued to his rear for a whole 20 laps...yer right next level my left nut.

Things I learned on Vital this week:

Anyone who starts a post off with "I'm a fan of" probably isn't a fan of that rider.

Sort of like how "To be honest" is almost always followed by a lie.
