I'm 52.

I think Vince had it coming...LITERALLY for "years"; yet, I do like Vince.

I think Cooper plays too many games during practice; yet, yesterday's crash was unintentional.

Blocking is one thing. Slamming in to a guy is another. Slamming is something that brings out the Hannah in me.

I'm 49 and have no problem if riders want to run a rolling roadblock. Cross jumping or something dangerous is a no no. That being said, if you intend to block a faster rider for more than a couple laps, you had better be prepared to get slammed when he runs it up inside you and takes out your front wheel. Craig and Marv I was good with, it was during a race. Coop on the other hand, jeez it was practice/qualifying. If I'd have been Allderedge, I would be so looking forward to helping Savatgy win this title. Nothing to cause injury, but a trip or two over the berm from a block pass.
Cross Jumping: that's a HUGE problem and there's likely to be a very broad argument about the definition.

13 and I AM NOT for dirty riding but I AM for aggressive riding/holding position,if you are in front of a guy,run lines how you wish...I haven't seen a single dirty move this year(Weston's retaliation doesn't count, that was uncalled for.) Dirty equals tickle/alessi incident, aggressive equals Barcia,Craig,or Webb.

I'm 56 and have been around this sport since the beginning....I haven't seen any dirty riding....the only thing that comes close is what Vince did to Wilson in the whoops at A1....now I have seen some dumb riding...

Screw dirty riding....this old man only cares about ears tucked in hats!

32 - All for good close racing, but I don't approve of take outs (unless it's in justified retaliation).

As a gauge - I didn't like Windham's pass on Vuillemin at Phoenix 2004.

34, I think I'm with a lot of other people on here. I wanna see some good racing, block passing is part of the game. I'm not a fan of cross jumping another rider. I'm sure there's another post on this but I don't consider Craig/Webb little cat and mouse clean racing. I see someone that is slower trying to keep someone behind him. There is no battling going on here. Webb had him covered again....is a bummer that he tucked the front wheel. I think this is the last time Webb is nice about it. I guess you can say he's been clean about trying to get around him. I think next race will be different or he can just get a start and let them race for second.

I'm almost 45 and I believe you can ride as wide a bike as you want if you are in front. That means riding, jumping crossing, and going to whatever part of the track you want at whatever speed you choose. If you cross at the wrong time, then you deserve to get landed on!!

Clearly the ones complaining never watch any form of road racing, 2 wheels or 4. It's not his job to roll over. It's Webb's job to figure out how to get by. If Webb is faster, the opportunity will eventually present itself. He just rushed it, and for no reason. Savatgy was nowhere near them AND they were pulling away from him.

Christian Craig put on a Master Class on how to ride defensively. He's not afraid to get close, not afraid to counter attack, not afraid to let someone pass him knowing that he's still controlling the corner/position. He protects his position in places on the track that he realized Webb is faster and has him beat in the whoops. To do all that while leading, and do it consistently, deserves a gold medal! It's soooo hard to do that every week.

I personally haven't seen someone use this technique effectively in years and it's awesome to see.

I raced an ax a few weeks ago, 40+ class. Only 2 other shower up so we got combined with 14-16 schoolboy. Those kids got a lesson in racing from the gate to the checkers. Pissed off dads at first, but the kids realized the dads were wrong. Had one ask if i gave lessons lol. Dad didnt want his precious getting hurt, understandable.. But precious wanted to learn how to race. Not hold a line and make laps.
I had a vet rider ram me off the track, follow me back to the pits and started yelling in my face for "blocking the race line." And it was my first lap on an open practice day.

yea, but was it budds? lot of southern maryland 40-something cocksuckers frequent that place. he probably put on a flat-billed hat, and his 53 ft. wheel trailer was probably parked long ways against the fence, effectively taking up 19 parking spots.

It was Tomahawk.
Never really had bad experiences at Budds, but I am sure it happens. At Budds it seems like people are more focused on just surviving.

I like banging bars and rubbing, don't like cross jumping or blocking in the whoops by jumping infront of a rider. Marvin and Craig are masters at these moves.
It sounds like you may be related to Webb somehow since your troll so much against Craig. That would be the only explanation to your complete ignorance. I suspect that you're probably also on some sort of meds that keep you on the edge of irritation and irrationality.

If you are really 53 it also sounds like you may have suffered some sort of head trauma at some point and have given place to bitterness instead of growing stronger and more mature through it. In other words, its obvious something is not right with you.

Maybe you should go back and watch the '90 SX battle between Ward and Matiasevich before commenting.

24. I didn't even think Reed's pass on Canard last year was that big of a deal after Trey landed on him.

Alessi has had some horrible attempts at a pass though. Block passes are all fine and dandy, even if someone ends up on the ground but purposely pinning your bike into a mother rider solely for a take out is a Bitch move.

38 here. I'm in favor or good, bar banging action. But I'm not in favor of blatant T-bones (Alessi on Tickle @ Atl) or riders who can't control themselves and are unsafe (Friese IMO).

At least judging from on here
I'm 29 and I see a lot of 14-20 year old riders blow a gasket over aggressive riding. Like I'm just supposed to move out of their way or not take their line away when the opportunity arises. Sissies! That's racing! Moose-can made a textbook move on reed. I didn't see anything wrong with it.
