Michelin softs are my tire of choice. They seem to grip really well on most all terrain and last a LONG time.
I've been thinking about trying these. I feel like most of our texas dirt is tough to pick an all around tire for. If I'm not in sand then I'm on a prepped ripped track but it still feels pretty hard underneath when you hit the clay base. I take it the Michelin Softs are hooking up well for you, may have to give it a try.

Idk if they're the cheapest, but Pirelli midsoft. Best tire for your dollar.
BOOM!

For you off-roaders-desert boys...the same tire in a compound called "Xtra-X" isTHE BEST tire I've EVER run in The Baja...yes, we call it 'The Baja'.

Pirelli just released the tire all the teams have been running at SX, too.

Michelins for this guy that last 10 years or so.

Have a brand new set of Starcross 5's ready to go too. Tires are about the only thing I won't cheap out on..

Which ones have you been running? I've been on the MH3s for 5 years or so now but I've been thinking about the Starcross 5 since I've been riding more prepped tracks lately.

tires now get hard in months not years,

don't go to the bike show and think you got a deal on old new stock.

MH3's front and rear at the track...for as long as I can rememember

I've tried a few Dunlops, Pirellis, and a Kenda, but nothing touched the Michelin IMO.

In the woods I run an IRC VE33 out back and an S12 Michelin up front. Believe it or not I've found the S12 to work awesome in the Northeast rocks..

I run the S12 up front as well, I love how aggressive it is, I can't remember the last time I washed the front end. Glad to here its working up the the Northeast. I grew up in Scranton PA, moved here about 8 years ago the change in dirt (and lack of rocks) has been a bonus for sure. Thanks for the input!

I had been running Dunlop MX32 front and MX52 rear. I switched to the Starcross 5 Medium compound. After 9 ride days Im happy with the performance and can say without a doubt they last longer than the Dunlops. No clue if they weight more than Dunlops though. I will be sticking with the Starcross this year.

A friend of mine is distributing GoldenTyres on the west coast so we have been running them for a test. SO far have been extremely impressed. Not the cheapest but the hookup and durability has been excellent.....GoldentyreWest

Did you run starcross soft or medium front? I use that same 32/52 combo but thinking of switching over...

Joe I would give the softs a try. They first time I tried them was for a arena cross and kinda caught me off guard how well they hooked up. . In the soft stuff they are great. And have wore really well .

The mx32s are awesome just wear out way to fast to be buying them all them time.

The Starcross soft holding up better than 32s?

Whoever says the mx32's dont last must be expecting 40 hours out of a tire.

25 hours on my last mx32 front. And the knobs on the rear are so tall you can run them a long time.

This is mostly norcal soft in the morning hardpack after noon.

If im doing two fronts for each piston, im not complaining..

Mtl make you a deal you send me a brand new set. Of Mx 32 we can time stamp them I will go ride 1 day. And post pics for everyone to see. And then we can do the same with the starcross 5 . Don't get me wrong the Mx 32 is a great tire. But imho. There are better options now .

Dunlop MX32 for us! The starcross is a great tire too.

I've used Kenda, Dunlop, Michelin and Bridgestone. I ride some shitty rocky tracks and nothing holds up as well as the bridgestones. I'm a M403/m404 for life now. Kinda mad they got rid of them. I still have a stash of them tho, got fronts for $35 and rears for $45.

You must have a sponsorship with them huh? I get tires fairly cheap thru my dealers but that's crazy low! Good on ya bud!

If you guy's have not tried the Kenda Washougal DC you're missing out. In my 40 years of racing I would rate it as the best tire Ive ever used! That's a huge statement but if you can find a set of them you will use nothing else ! I have used them from Florida to North GA and love them. Do yourself a favor and try them, they are not cheap but wear very well and look great

Sorry, but they were all spoken for, and then some, before I even PayPal'd the money to him.

I got a Facebook message at 5:30am yesterday asking if I wanted to buy some new mx32's for $25ea, I said sure I'll take two sets. He said ok, but I need to move them all today you cheep bastard! I sent two friends a text at 6am to see if they wanted any and the guy called me right after to explain they had to go today as it's his last day to move stuff out. We hung up about 20min later and one friend had group texted a bunch of our riding buddies and 5 guys all wanted 4 sets each, lol

I have med front & med rear Starcross 5. The front is predictable like the mx32. I will put the Michelin rear at lasting 20% longer than mx52 and cost a few bucks less. Performance is the same - excellent.
